Game doesn't start even in files

Hello. my game doesn’t start when i try to start it from steam. Steam is telling me Im in game, but any window doesn’t show up, and after ~ 10 sec’s it is kicking me from game. And when i trying to start game from files, i have “Fatal error” window, which says “the game will close! Vermintide 2. You need to have Steam client running to play game”

I have tried everything to fix this, but nothing help. I reinstalled game 3 times, changed it locations on disks, reinstalled EAC many times. IDK how i can fix it, can somebody help me?

i suspect launcher.config to be the culprit, not sure tho.
delete it (or better store it somewhere). Starting the game should re-acquire the deleted files. (if it for some reason doesn’t, use verify via steam)
if it wasn’t the culprit, the second most likely I wager would be user_settings.config

I dont have files like this, i changed PC 2 days ago

what exe are you trying to start manually?

Some things to try here:

  • Fully log out of, and restart Steam
  • Check for any Steam client updates
  • Ensure you have latest Windows updated installed
  • Try running Steam as Administrator
  • Check your Anti-Virus/Firewall for any conflicts or restrictions on either Steam or Vermintide 2

Failing the above, please try a clean reinstallation of Vermintide 2 which involves deleting your AppData (please note any custom settings e.g. keybinds, graphics etc. will be reset):

Every exe which start game, and none of them works

I have done and it didn’t work. Im doing next game reinstall but i dont think this will help.

Hm okay, just re-reading things back, it sounds like you are clicking play in Steam, but nothing is loading - so possibly a launcher issue?

If you haven’t already done so, please try repairing your .NET Framework installation. Please see:

Otherwise, does the launcher workaround also in the article above work for you?

I have already .net installed, and repaired. It dint’t helped
Launcher workaround also dont do anything, same as on video.

Nah, i played this game and spend a lot of money on dlcs and cosmetic stuff, and already done a lot of quests. I dont want just refund

I found a fix
It needed to change compatibility mode to win 8 for all exe files + steam and run everything as admin.
