Regular launcher fails

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - On Launch

Issue Description (Required):

I am getting an exception occurred error (included in image attached) upon using the regular launcher. I’ve been using the Steam beta launcher workaround, however, this means I cannot edit some mods, and/or go to the modded realm (does it?). I’ve tried verifying the integrity of game files.

Please help!

Hi @jlo317,

The image appears to have not attached. Could you please reupload it?

If you haven’t already done so, please try our other launcher solutions, here:

Whooops! Sorry, here’s the screenshot.

I have followed the steps (it is how I found the workaround). Now, I’m looking to see if there’s a better solution.

@jlo317 thanks! I’ve shared this with our developers who are taking a look. Could you also please provide your most recent console log and launcher log as this would be useful to see:

Thank you in advance!

Our developers have mentioned that something appears to be failing when writing to the directory. It’s possible that a recent Windows update may be the cause.

They’ve asked if you could try the following please:

  1. Press Windows Key + R
  2. Type %appdata% and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to the ‘Fatshark’ directory
  4. Rename the ‘Vermintide 2’ folder to anything different
  5. Launch Vermintide 2 as usual, and see if a new ‘Vermintide 2’ directory is created and if the launcher encounters the same issue

Please let me know how this goes.

Latest console log and crash log uploaded.

Opening launcher log results in “This file or directory is corrupted and unreadable”.

I will try the new suggestions now.

Oh this works! Well, that was easy, eh?

Thank you so much for the help!
