FS Please Make a Forum FAQ

I check this forum every week and see the same thing, the same questions being asked. And, more often than not, none of them being answered. I am going to give the CMs the benefit of the doubt that they’ve already answered them, maybe even months ago, and they feel responding to it again is redundant.

So please create a FAQ for official FS responses to community questions and concerns on this forum. That can be periodically updated as time goes on that players of your games can reference. Anytime someone makes a post asking the same question that’s been asked ad nauseum, another community member or the CMs can just direct them to the FAQ.

Questions like:

Will crafting locks be removed?

What is FS’s stance on the shop rotation?

Weapon customization?

FS, you have the power to put the final nail in the coffin on this questions. Because right now I feel like there’s just been a lot of silence. I feel like we deserve clear answers, even if all of them are ones that may disappoint, “No. We don’t have any present plans for X.” I’d rather be disappointed than frustrated with false hope.

Even if you don’t have answers, make it clear to the community that internally within FS that it’s unknown. That different problems are being considered. “We are considering the possibility of implementing X changes and will update this message in the FAQ in the future.”

this wouldn’t help because none of those people read anything else in the forum, they just post and leave.

Well, they can post and have a reply pointing them to a FAQ. Or have people answer them with FS’s official statement. Instead of it all being up in the air.

Exactly, me for example can’t even read!

They’re never gonna do this.

Would it be smart? Yes. Make all of us feel better? Of course.

But any of us who are here who bought the game a year ago did so off of disingenuous informstion and, in the case of the beta, total and utter falsehoods on the part of the company.

Fatshark recognizes that we’re all here based on the potential this game might deliver. Almost every sale they’ve made right now is based on the idea that we’re all hoping it might get better.

This “will they/won’t they” of game improvement is their most valuable asset right now. They’re never, ever going to address anything you’ve listed in the FAQs unless they have answers that aren’t “nope”.

This “will they/won’t they” of game improvement is their most valuable asset right now.

And if they do answer, but then decide to go in another direction for any number of valid reasons or encounter issues that delay or derail them, they’ll be called liars and crooks and morons.

There’s no winning at this point, except to submarine and pop up with KILLER stuff like the talent trees. Shark style!

Some people will absolve FS of responsibility saying “Oh no, people will be mad no matter what!”. This is the reality for EVERY gaming company… ANY company in the entertainment industry actually.

FS are bad at communicating. Not just bad, they are terrible at it. Yes, they will announce a feature then fail to deliver. But instead of communicating that clearly and telling the community what we get INSTEAD, they will be completely silent. The best you can expect is a reply from a CM somewhere in Discord, then it’s up to the good people of the community to post it again to Reddit and these forums.

Also, people who are mad enough to post, won’t read an FAQ

I’ve seen small indie devs without a dedicated CM have FAQ systems. There is no excuse for bigger companies. Which makes it feel purposeful.

No
It’s fine
It’s not Call of Duty

Pretty sure they’ve answered all of these indirectly or directly

They’re still asked it quite often, which means they’ve failed to communicate it to the community. Which is my point in the post, “I am going to give the CMs the benefit of the doubt that they’ve already answered them, maybe even months ago, and they feel responding to it again is redundant.”
