Don’t tell me you like Blight Spreads ![]()
I do, but I understand the hate and don’t wish it forced upon anyone.
I played Aliens Fireteam Elite before coming back to DT, so I had an existing appreciation for it and enjoyed when it popped up in Havoc 1.0.
Would love to play it outside of Havoc.
At the very least it should be reworked to be more tolerable, instead of everything immediately getting the effect and spreading it everywhere.
If it was only in Auric and not in Havoc I would be fine.
Agreed insomuch that it being only havoc is likely the reason it’s so hated. It wasn’t exactly fun playing it with everything else in Havoc 1.0 (pre-nerf EFL cough).
I don’t want any of these modifiers Havoc only and it is the biggest source of resentment of FS for me currently.
Also my biggest source of head-scratching since it’s hard dev work that gets effectively binned when it’s used once.
Some may argue otherwise, but these modifiers are content to me, you know, that thing~90% of DT players criticize not getting enough new of.
Purple and Heinous Rituals should remain Havoc only. Purple is just a hard modifier to play around and I assume most auric only players would struggle a lot with it. Heinous shouldn’t be in it because it seems like a third or more of the spawn locations don’t have correct triggers and it doesn’t even work on some maps (silo cluster got removed from Havoc because Heinous would cause it to crash afaik).
Orange is just a damage reduction although it has the lag problem. Red is on the verge of maybe being too much for Auric onlys to handle.
I think there’s enough event modifiers and Havoc S1 modifers in the game that the Havoc S2 modifiers shouldn’t need to be introduced to the normal Mission Board.
Maybe FatShark could make the Blight puddles work just like Tox Gas? Make it take away player’s toughness first and go for their health second.
What do you think?
Fine opinion, but I plainly disagree.
I don’t think anything should be locked to Havoc, just the combos that they define their “seasons” with.
Until/Unless they rework Havoc matchmaking, I don’t want to be forced into engaging with it to experience content.
Rituals are bugged af, so they shouldn’t even be in Havoc at the moment. But, if they were fixed, I would want them available as well.
All of them are fine as one-off mods to the Auric board. Maybe seeing 2 of them at most on a new stable of Maels perhaps.
IMO, seeing these mods in Auric should be the training for Havoc. That’s why Dark Rituals gave me such foolish hope, it truly felt like they made a Havoc-lite modifier that would be a much better and more fun Havoc intro system than just completing an unrelated maelstrom.
Variety is the spice melange of life. I need to see more than dogs/darkness/poo gas/dust storm.
Nah, plus they just did that with rotten armor.
Then maybe they could reduce how strongly the Blight Spreads between the enemies? One Blighted enemy can spread the Nurgle juice to an entire horde, so maybe it just needs limits in how many enemies can be blighted?
I don’t know how that could be reduced, but I still put the idea out there.
Fine to ideate about, but, imo, all of these modifiers should be freed from havoc before messing with their implementation to see what plays out
When Beacon of Purity is no longer 100% necessary because downing or death isn’t an instant fail like high havoc, people may figure out creative solutions.
The idea of poo puddles is to force movement and careful positioning in fights. Lot more room for that in Auric than 20+ havoc.
I’d personally hold my horses when it comes to thinking about Zealot auras. Beacon of Purity might as well not exist or be get reworked once the next update rolls around. After all, FatShark has stated that they plan to rework the Zealot and the next update is pretty much right around the corner.
But I’ll guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
I only bring it up as the, afaik, still meta hard counter for blight in Havoc.
Yeah, but I must say, making it so that The Blight Spreads modifier will also appear in Auric difficulties is an entertaining idea. It’s also hilariously ironical based on what modifier we are talking about here.
Floodgates opened today
No, not really. Aside from me, no one really pointed that out or talks about it. At least, last time I read it, I didn’t see anything noteworthy.
I really should put this entire thread in the Book since it catalogs people wanting modifiers to enter regular rotation very consistently.
