As title game crashes when using frame generation when using nvidia ansel filters, it happens in the form of a freeze and then a black screen. Would be great to have a fix since the nvidia filters massively enhance the visual look of the game.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Bazerka - interested to hear whether Index’s recommendations above can help to alleviate the issue in the meantime!
“old” 2022 asus tuf board, though fixed at release in 2023(?) still seemed to have the cpu allow for more than it was due power wise, as in cpu almost uncapped at times.
bit the bullet after switching my 4080 for a 5080 and still getting the same error (so faulty gpu was ruled out) and updated my bios which had regulations in place for cpu power consumption (see intel i7-13/14 degradation via google)
at the same time i switched my driver from the 596 something back to one of the 580s, so what solved it so far i cant pinpoint.
what wasnt the issue for me though after extensive testing was:
psu failing
temperature (mostly around 50s degree gpu to the lower 60s, cpu around 70ish and the water cooling only doing its thing when new shaders get loaded)
ram speed (turned off xms/equivalent to stock, still crashes)
driver debug mode didnt do jack
same as setting gpu to high performance(see psu vs cpu vs gpu)
whatever it was, and i hope i aint jinxing it by saying, it’s gone for 4 weeks despite 4-6hour game sessions
then again the issue is around since before the gtx700s and everyone is pointing fingers at each other as the culprit.
There is a conflict with ansel filters and frame gen. I didnt have any nvidia crash and it is reproducible every time when enabling the filters. I don’t think a bios update is going to fix it, this is a driver thing seemingly.
Just bumping this, for hopes of an update. cant live without the filters as they bring the visuals of this game to life, the default is so muddy and lacking in crispness that the sharpening filter provides, not to mention the colour tweaks you can do with the ansel filters. Thanks.
you could try use reshade, you can achieve basically the same effect as those filters. there are many sharpening filters and other things to make colors and contrasts better.
