Fix QQ switcing asap!

Why?

Because this mod was just released: Always First Attack at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community

Previously this was possible using macros or manual input. Now you can do it with 100% efficiency and with no effort other than that required to install the mod.

Fatshark has previously stated explicitly that they are okay with macro use to take care of your joint health. Its implied that using them for an advange is not intended.

So why is this an issue right now?

Because stuff like this can spread like wildfire.

If people learn that it will let them kill the entire map basically on their own then it is just a matter of time before 99% of the playerbase is using this.

Its exactly the kind of mod thats going to become “mandatory” for higher levels of play because its just too good to pass up.

Maybe i am making a mountain out of a mole hill. But i would rather do that and be proven wrong than to just sit idly and watch one of my favourite games lose access to modding because someone took it too far.

The fun part is that it’s more or less like a macro which is totally legal to use afaik. Have fun guys…

I doubt it will save you from horde mixed with specials and elites, but it certainly will make some melee weapons super easy to use and too strong.
I personally find it absolutely not fun, since it basically removes skill requirements for limbsplitter, which required doing qq, block or q cancels in order to gain full potential of this blessing.

i don’t think it will drastically shift the difficulty in general, or i hope so.

It makes weapons like Evi far more effective, which brings up a question I asked before: why don’t weapon attack combos provide better benefits? Animation cancelling should not make weapons feel better than actually using the available weapon combos, whatever the default ones or mix/matching light, heavy and other attacks. So in the case of Evi, me going from heavy 1 attack into light 1, should not feel the need to animation cancel to chase scraps of higher dps / make the weapon more usable.

I noticed the mod got hidden, but due to the nature of modding with Darktide what is to stop players from distributing the mod amongst themselves and continuing to use it undetected?

Animation canceling requires more input from the player than attack combos, thus it should provide more benefits. But amount of that benefits is in question. It shouldn’t go over the top, like with that mod.

I personally didn’t really feel the need for animation canceling in general. Most of weapon combos are sufficient enough. So I see it as an additional feature to boost your weapon effectiveness, in return for heavier input.
And I think that existing of limbsplitter tells us that devs see animation canceling like a feature as well, not a bug.

It does, it is also terrible for your wrists, and turns you into a tweaker without drug history. Thanks, I rather save my health.

Kids these days are not willing to sacrifice anything to reach the top!
