I did not repeat anything of the sort and got banned. And there may have been other cases like me. I was banned for saying something along the lines of “strawhat please help us with these unjustified bans”.
Also some people weren’t even from Telopots stream.
He was generous enough to raid you with 150+ viewers and previously, before the end (somewhere in the middle) of his stream he said he was going to raid you WITHOUT saying go spam the chat.
I think that you guys clearly think the worst of us, we want what is BEST for the game. We were simple expressing what we wanted on your so called “fun stream” on the OFFICIAL Fatshark channel.
Fun stream or not surely there should be some level of professionalism when answering a genuine question. I could go on and make a whole new thread about why the mission board is such an issue but at this point I don’t think you care.
You say we should only take the first part of the Devs statement. If they ended at the first part that’s fine (although not amazing) but what followed it doesn’t matter the intention behind it, joke or malice. It simply sounded like a spit in the face to many people who were passionate about said topic. [Edit: The reason I and many others were mad at the following statement was because we have had to experience the mission board for 2 years, we CANNOT play the mission and modifiers we want we want. A lot of times I will load up the game and instantly go to the mission board only to find out there is not a single mission on the board I would like to play after a long day of work. I then either have to wait 30+ minutes for the board to reset to only be met with another terribly rolled mission board.]
Even the person who asked the question (who has nothing to do with Telopots, was angry).
and whats wrong with that? in anything i love i go for the max and beyond because i enjoy it to the fullest.
and why shouldnt i?
just because average joe can´t i need to set my goals lower and settle for mediocrity ?
whats that “high” when after a certain level of experience it´s your default warmup environment?
its not a chill lay back for me, i want to perform.
theres 5 difficulties to chill, only auric maelstrom for the rest, go figure.
(not you in particular) and before the old “then play pvp” argument rears its head: sure i will, just pay my bills so i can enjoy and unemploy.
be back to 15 hour training sessions that very day
and i love the 40k vibe, so there’s that too
its called thrive and ambition.
i’ll not get into to what lenghts i went in my gym days
difference is, i walked around with less than 8%bodyfat when everyone around complained about his potbelly.
only didnt they rise at 6am and had nutrition down to a gram.
but that´s the same thing.
the moment people see something so far out of the “average” instead of aspiring that summit, they try to drag those down that climb so they don´t feel like being at the bottom.
if anything its a counterweight to the soul sucking capital vampire that sucks the best part of the day out of people.
in the remaining spare time, i´ll be the best “me” i can.
Exactly. I love how they shift blame to telopots when I clearly asked the question before the him and his people joined the stream. Whenever something doesn’t suite their narrative or idea of how the game should be played it’s trolls or some malicious intent, when it couldn’t be farther from the truth:
We want to play the game but you want let us unless we play what you want, when you decree it. That’s not fun, that’s just BS.
Of course I was, because I expected the devs (even if they’re responsible for different parts of the game) or the respective PR person to have some kind of predetermined response.
Instead we get “lol dunno” followed by “everyone who disagrees with us is a spammer and a troll”.
What a way to treat the players that still keep playing your game and help keep it from dropping into obscurity.
It’s a consequence of the initial question and the bad response to it.
Shifting from that to “hurr the entire thing is nothing it was the spammers” is not just moving goal posts but also deflecting from the original issue: The current mission selection has been broken from the start and is getting worse with each new map and mode added.
By your logic we’d have never gotten the crafting rework without people btching to FS about it nonstop.
If yomething is trash you have to call it out. And you’re also conflacting a server/lobby browser with the ability to freely select map, difficulty and modifiers applied. That’s something else.
Those 2 featured in the clip were asked by a customer a question. I don’t expect them to agree with the customer. I expect them to give a professional and polite answer even if this question was previously asked 1000s of times before by different people.
“Currently we have no plans to change how the mission selection screens works”.
Bonus points for a possible logical explanation:
“We believe this could introduce issues with queuing times for people who don’t join games in groups”.
“Our current development priorities are…blah blah blah, but we intend to revisit this issue in the future”.
people have been complaining about the arbitrary map limitations since launch, if they’re joking about it they’re either not taking the users’s complaints seriously or they aren’t aware people have this issue to begin with. Neither are a good look and trying to make stupid jokes when people are still so disssatisfied with their product isn’t a smart move.
Fatshark’s reputation is already awful and instead every opportunity they get to improve it they decide to do stuff like this. It’s not about this one question, it’s about how they consistently FRICK up and never apologize while they begrudgingly bring their blatantly unfinished game to a state where it could actually be called a full game several years down the line.
Fascinated by this assumption that two developers doing a community challenge stream should be able, or are expected, to rattle off a studied response about a facet of the game they’re not involved with developing, in the style of a communication professional, which isn’t their job.
So tell me if I got this straight:
The devs weren’t there to give any official statements nor are directly involved in that aspect of the game.
That guy could have ignored the question honestly, he gave the proper answer (he is not in a position to say anything) and made a joke.
Telopots instigated spam in the stream, moderators intervened to stop it.
If anything Telopots and his vewers are in the wrong, there was nothing disrespectful in the devs joke, and even if asking for features in the game is totally legit, I would describe their behavior as immature, at best, and low-key disrespectful towards the vewers of the stream and the developers themselves.
I genuinely don’t care about being able to select a specific mission enough to warrant a change… if it makes the experience better for more people, then so be it. The one thing I wish were present on the existing mission board is more variety in maps and modifiers, and the ability to just run any of them at any difficulty level. There’s no reason to split between each difficulty of operation, IMO.
Standards vary between countries and culture for sure, but being professional in the front of customers and during your work activities is a basic requirement. Please don’t tell me Sweden falls back in customer relation standards behind Poland.
To answer both of these questions: I want the real-ass nerds who made this game to keep interacting with the community, to keep doing even the silliest and fluffiest of streams, so that we can hear more about development from the people who actually built the damn thing. But when every single tiny gaffe gets blown out of proportion, it’s just going to rightfully make these folks not want to engage. And that sucks.
