Not much reason to focus on small, bitter stuff? Not right now? Meaningless compared to what they did this patch?
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re trying to p!ss me off
The fact is that the gacha gear system is still the single biggest detractor from DT as a game and has been for a goddamn year and nothing substantial changed about that. They aknowledge that they’ve heard the feedback, they aknowledge that the “changes” they have made are not what we want and not enough and still come up with nonsensical reasons as to why they haven’t done anything about it yet.
Nothing about any of this is overdramatic, nothing about this is small or bitter stuff, it’s certainly not meaningless and never will be. There is no better time to remind them of this crap, every single time they don’t finally do somehting about it, especially in a patch that highlights why it needs to be changed.
You do you, but I suspect a huge number of people care even more about not being able to freely try different weapon and blessing builds now that it’s actually possible to meaningfully explore different talent trees that might support blessings/weapons in very different ways.
Not to mention that keeping the locks when blessings (and weapons) have changed so dramatically puts an enormous damper on everything, and is a giant middle finger from FS.
I will agree with commander that this is frustrating for the weapon we already own. If you made it before the last craft rework and already have a perk rerolled then you can’t change here again.
But otherwise the lock are less of a probleme now that everything was buffed and we can swap both blessing on new weapons.
In the last months DT rating went from 50% to 70% on steam. And that was before this patch.
I think november will finally see DT as a “mostly positive” game in the recent votes and I’m happy to be here for this even if it took far too long for this.
Yeah I do blame the developer of the game for creating universally hated unfun systems that are blatantly obviously only in the game for player addiction RNG and dark design.
If you want to gobble that all up and swallow it whole, that’s on you. Be a good little consumer.
I’m quite sceptical and Saltzpyre-ish about Fatshatk most of the time. But this time I’m pleasantly surprised finaly.
Technical side - so far there is no such things like ogryn nuke bomb nukes my game aswell. Server errors and heavy lags are gone (for me).
Balance is a joke but it is what it is, more important design wise they made a right decision. Atleast there is enough new content to enjoy and learn before bad balance will kill any fun completely.
Overall it’s on Chaos Wastes level quality i guess. Hope this will be a new standard for the game.
P.S. wasn’t expecting such online. It’s 20k, thought gonna be like 10k.
I’m loving the patch, my friends who haven’t played for months are back and having a great time too.
I really do think this exaccerbates the lock issue though. I play Ogryn. I never bothered getting a good shield because it was mega poopy. Now that it’s viable with bullgryn builds & the Brutal Momentum update, I want to give it a try.
But uh…yeah, guess what? lol
That’s also the case with some other classes and other weapons. I want to try new things with all the freedom of choice the skills give, only to be running into a wall that is the crafting.
In the update 12 devblog Catfish said they’re planning to keep looking at it, and the new CM in the Discord frequently says to keep an eye out for some kind of statement on it in the next couple weeks. So I rrreeeeeaaaallllyyyy hope that they’re actually going to do something about it next. It’s the only last thing that really frustrates me about the game. I have some small quibbles here and there but we’re so close now.
so far so good, a few little bugs here and there. but otherwise yes, so far early feelings are pretty posative.
I’m personally enjoying being a mellee vet, scabby little stabby ally rat. it feels freeing to be unrestrained by the norm of old meta and experiment with old but new tools to the point it feels nice to just experiment again.
freinds have been having great craic accross the board.
But as for the discussions happening in the timeline, hopefully once the team irons out any issues they can see about adding red tier weapons not because I need the locks to go away… More because I’ve heard eldar moan less about the inevitable death of their species.
It’s a valid critiscism of the game sure, but one I hear and see more vitriol around than actual meaningful discussions or solutions for.
Yeahhhhh lol idk why some of these guys are on here just to type wall of texts about how bad the game is… you could just not play it and move on with your life lol
