Extended Arbites Gameplay

While the Arbites weapons look really cool, the game will likely continue to be dominated by Plasma and the Duelling Sword.

This is unfortunately just how it is going to be until Fatshark nerfs the outliers.

From watching the clip, I have some reservations about the effectiveness of the Dog.

In scenarios like the one shown in the clip, where you face a single Trapper, the Dog’s ability to disable is fine.

However, in more challenging games like Auric Maelstrom and Havoc, where players are usually up against multiple Trappers alongside various Elites and Specials, I question its utility.

Also, the Dog seems to operate independently rather than feeling like a cohesive part of the player, which contrasts sharply with the synergy seen with Necromancer Sienna (Sofia) and her skeletons if you guys know what I mean?

The dog just kinda runs around and does its own thing.

I cant believe theyve made no dmg class. Just they wanted a vibe of investigation. Hab Dreyko is a investigation mission, Arbites as law, no music, no horde assaults and etc. Id say its grey weapons with 60% dmg or something like that just to decrease the overall speed at all cost. I actually dont know why they’re doing this because it doesnt look good, you can make a 1 minute of a high intense combat (which is a main seller for DT, OKAY I DONT THINK THERE IS SOME WHO MIGHT WANNA BUY THAT GAME FOR WALKING AND COLLECTING SCRIPTURES) and still show a features in between of fights. No sense to judge the class from the vid we had seen

the movement as well seems off, like not in sync with gravity for a lack of better words.

the way it takes leaps forward, the airtime seems oddly long, like floating.

guess they chose a “safe” difficulty as to not put off possible new buyers but its odd they dont breeze through as one would expect of people chosen by the developer.

then again the “target audience” would have a hard time grasping the speed and density of auric maelstrom and havoc.

still they should offer a havoc 40 version of proper kitted and specced characters.

aint much use in informative material when not all information is included

I’m worried from this footage that the best option will be to lose the hound for the talent that buffs up your character. Which seems like a shame, given the class lol.

Not exactly the kind of video I wanted, but whatevs, still excited for release.

I get the complaints about the walking simulator difficulty, but I have no real issue with that. What I am disappointed about is the lack of an actual showcase of most abilities.

Within the first 20 seconds we see the shield light go from red to green, and then the special attack on either weapon is never used for the rest of the mission. The dog is never commanded and it doesn’t get enough screentime to show how well it takes out elites. We get to see maybe two arbites nades thrown, and one use of the stagger ability, plus a glimpse of the shock mines planted by another arbitrator. All of that only happens in the last minute.

No hud hides the subtitles or indication of ability usage, but it does showcase how the shield special doesnt need a hud indicator when ready (which is then never used).

The pc article does a way better job at telling us what these do than a 7 minute gameplay showcase, but I appreciate the good minute where the class actually stands out!

yeah looks like the known shock maul, used together with a shield.

the mauls were nice and funny when they came out, but you rarely see people using them now because duel swords, relic blades and knives outshine them.
perhaps the added shield will give the maul extra usefulness, but given the low difficulty here it’s hard to say how the combo stacks up against the above.

2:05 curious if dogs can wake demonhosts, even if the handler keeps enough distance?
well animated dogs btw.

2:36 haha, the opposite to cadian vet’s “clean kills”. :ogre: bet they’ll have some good interaction. must be the anti-social guy.

4:27 doggo mauling a mauler. they should scream louder when doggo rips them apart.
they’re funny when you smack them into the ground as ogryn and they still roar how much they would like to kill you.

5:10 two dogs vs one heretical hound and they don’t bite it? perhaps because the player has to actively designate that hound as a target?
also, i hope having a dog vs not having one is well balanced.

6:35 took 5-6 shots to kill that reaper. on that difficulty.
i assume the number of shells visible on the gun won’t change.

6:45 appears to be the ult with the shield, a heavy bash + electricity

7:18 if that’s a stun grenade, at least it can’t be spammed like smite.

Of course not. They’re the sight.

Hmmm from the PCG article:

The Arbites Shotgun is particularly powerful - so much so that Fatshark has had to rebalance all the existing shotguns to help them match up to the newcomer’s might.

Cautiously hopeful but skeptical considering the source.

It said that it’s not the final product, but does that mean the difficulty will be selected individually from the right side?
Or have Standard, Auric, and Maelstrom been completely overhauled and merged together?
Well, the current mission board has been completely outdated in terms of game balance, so I definitely welcome a full adjustment to it.

This player is definitely a tester.
To begin with, I think the dev at Fatshark have a play skill level comparable to that of casual players, at least that’s the impression I got from watching their Twitch streams before.
Well, I don’t expect devs to be highly skilled players, so I’m not too concerned about that, but I do think videos from players like ChocoB, J Sat, or NewType would be much more helpful as references.

I still wait the talent tree blog…

The footage was boring, couldn’t see anything interesting. The dog seems kinda useless.

Hooray for futuristic footknight Kruber but aside from that, it could be any other class really.

Remember that there is a marketing exec who vetted this boring T2 video in a vanilla map, hardly killing vanilla mobs.

I am sincerely waiting for FS to pull something amazing. Perhaps with the December update.

Yah was pretty lack luster, some tubers trying make some hype but teaser was better… only highlight was hearing Kerrillian again I think was hard to pick out voices

Which one is Kerillian? At which part in the video can you hear her?

Edit: Could she be the one saying “Do not disturb that thing” as they walk past the Demonhost?

Yep. Other ranged weapons are dead on arrival if FS doesn’t nerf the bolter.
