Issue Description:
I am constantly subject to a “fatal error!” message when I play this game on PC Game Pass. It happens multiple times when I have time to play it and causes the game to close. When I pick a operative and it tries to load into the Mourningstar, when I want to switch operatives and it tries to load back into the Mourningstar, when I am playing a mission (this can be on any map and at any time, seems completely random), when I’ve finished a mission the game tries to load me back into the Mourningstar. The last one is most annoying when I have a match with randoms, and we all want to play together again but I crash when loading back into the Mourningstar so I lose them. I have a intel i9 13900KS with 64gb of DDR5 RAM at 6200MHz and an RTX 4090 so I’m pretty sure my PC is up to scratch. I don’t have RTX enabled on Darktide and I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, verifying the integrity of game files more times than I can count. I even reinstalled Windows 10 just to see. I do not have this issue with any other game I play on here. It’s been so annoying that I was tempted to get the Steam version as I’ve heard it’s more stable but it’s not cross progression and I DO NOT want to have to start from scratch again. I don’t have much free time with work.
Error Displayed (If Applicable):
The message reads as follows - “Failed decompress ‘#ID[00000000]’, error: Oodle detected corruption by compressed segment, This error could be caused by a broken install. Try to verify files or re-install the game. If this still occur please contact support.”
Steps to Reproduce:
Impossible to say really as while it is a common issue it seems to be random.
Mission Name (If Applicable):
Happens both in and out of a mission
Platform:
Microsoft Store (Game Pass on PC)
Player ID:
EddyTheLiar
Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone:
Been an issue ever since I started playing when it became crossplay
Reproduction Rate:
Often (<75%)

Sorry for the delay here. I did query this with our Engine Developers, as we’ve recently added logging to help pin down the underlying cause of these errors.
I don’t have any immediate answers unfortunately, but it might be worth running through the solutions here. Historically we’ve seen these errors a lot when a player’s RAM is having trouble, or if the speeds are mismatched.
Alternatively, I’m happy to help with a refund if you would prefer.
Thank you for getting back to me. In relative respects you have responded quickly compared to other publishers so for that I am grateful. Regarding your RAM suggestion, I have already investigated that and confirmed that all four of my sticks are at the same speeds. I even went as far as doing a Windows Memory Diagnostics check which returned no errors.
On the plus side I have been using Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility to lower my performance core ratio from its default 56 to 53 which has shown a remarkable decrease in crashes. I still get them, predominantly after finishing a mission and loading into the Mourningstar, but I take what I can get.
Regarding the refund, I certainly do not want that as I do love this game, especially playing it will my friends, so thank you for the offer. However, I have seen people request having their progress transferred from one platform to another (Xbox to Steam) is that possible? If so, would I be able to request something like that. I suppose the only issue would be the skins I have purchased. If this is a difficult to work around, then forget it as I do not want to cause you any trouble.
Thanks again!

It’s not completely possible, but we do what we can in terms of mirroring operatives levels and currencies. If you’d like to do this, please reach out to us at https://fatshark.se/support
