Error on startup; EAC cant locate game executable entry in catalogue

Every time I launch the game, right after the splash screen, I get an error that says ‘Could not locate game executable entry in the catalogue (verm)’. The launcher also says ‘unrecognized game client. cannot continue’.I have verified and redownloaded/reinstalled the game, but that doesnt have seemed to help. I found a forum thread from a few years back saying that deleting vermintide2.json in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\launcher\EasyAntiCheat\Launcher works for some people. I tried it, and it launched correctly, and I was able to play the prologue without any problems, but then I couldnt join friends because the anti-cheat would keep kicking me.
