Error 0xc0000005-"This Application Failed to Start"

Issue Description: I can get onto the Launcher and then the game starts to load up in a small window. It stops midway and gives me this error message before I get a crashify screen for a brief second. This issue is keeping from playing the game itself. I’ve tried giving Darktide exempts on my anti-virus (I use Microtrend) and it still doesn’t work.

    3: Wait through loading screen
    4: Error.
    5: Crashify report

Upload Console Log:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
  5. Upload here

Upload darktide_launcher.log:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  4. Locate the darktide_launcher.log in this directory
  5. Upload here

Ok. I just tried this. I figured out how to shut off my anti-virus, just to test it, and it finally worked. So it was the anti-virus stopping it, but I don’t know how to make the exempts since I did list whatever I could related to Darktide, and it doesn’t work with it on

You’ll need to add exceptions for both Darktide and Easy Anti-Cheat.

can you tell me what the files looks like exactly? Because I’ve been putting all I can find related on my anti-virus exempts and its still not working

Please try adding exceptions for -

  • ‘Darktide.exe’ in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries

  • ‘EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe’ in Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS
