Hey bud, yeah i’ve got the game .exe launch and anti cheat both on the exception list.
Any idea?

As a test can you temporarily totally disable your anti-virus? Its only as a test.

cheers mate, that looks like the problem.
I had to turn off both windows defender AND my other firewall. Bit confused as to why it took this though.
Is there something extra that needs adding to the exception list?

Some anti-virus programs have a ‘heuristic’ or ‘0 day’ mode. This scans files and it ‘guesses’ if the file is a virus or not. This tends to be… ahem unreliable and can cause weird issues. To make it work these ‘heuristics’ modes are SEPARATE from the anti-virus product. So users will disable the anti-virus, think they’re ok, but the heuristics mode will kick in and block the file anyway. This depends on what your anti-virus product is and how it works.

i recommend like selectively turning on feature in yoru anti-virus suite one at a time and see which one breaks the game. That way you’ll know which feature you need to address with exceptions.

Obviously turning off all your firewall and anti-virus for playing a game is not a good idea so its important to turn that stuff back on. After all what else is going to protect your computer from the evils of the Chaos demons right?
