Enemy spam - Ogryns

Compared to VT2, the game balance in Darktide is unbelievably bad.
It’s hard to believe they were made by the same studio.
At this point, they’d practically need to dedicate two full major updates just to fixing the balance — that’s how bad it is.

It’s the engine and the issues that come from it are stuff like enemies without any audio. You can probably guess why that would be a huge issue in a game with Trappers, Poxbursters and Crushers.

That would’ve been fine if they mentioned rotten armor overrides this but they didn’t did they? If so they said this where? The lack of communication is crazy. With the crusher/Mauler increased HP + broken blue stim it’s insane or even healing haha.

Seriously, it seems like everything under the sun suppresses Reapers. Even blaze bolts suppress Reapers. They’re a total joke individually, unless spammed in large groups.

That’s precisely what I wish to see changed.

Tbh I’ve seen more people down to groaner running attacks than crusher overheads.

Hello strawman my old friend. Its nice to see you once again.

Audio limitations maybe. I think it’s generally fine from my experience with sound. I don’t feel surprised that much and even then I don’t know much of it is my brain’s fault vs the games.

It is, I agree. I just mean elite spam isn’t necessarily part of the balance issue. You can have a game, perfectly balanced, and still have elite spam if the goal is to have players kill them at a certain rate. You can have good balance and either a design of stronger elites and fewer of them, or weaker and more numerous. That’s more of a design philosophy. But yeah balance is still pretty bad in darktide with lots of obvious meta’s and really bad marks and talents and such.

it’s a good solution. Just make it even easier to solo and kill crushers and maulers. This will certainly solve the necessity of enemy spam. Between making enemies an actual threat by themselves so that fewer of them can be menacing or just making every weapon have better breakpoints so that their numbers matter even less, let’s just keep going in the latter direction for another couple years. It’s so interesting.
