Easy Anti Cheat BSOD / Blue Screen Crash

My friend recently got a new laptop, and after about 4 minutes of play (e.g., standing in the keep) his computer full crashes with a blue screen message:

Stop code: KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
What failed: EasyAntiCheat.sys

Not sure if there’s anything obvious within the console log as to what could be going on.

Sorry to hear this. I recommend they try the following:

  • Ensure latest Windows updates are installed
  • Repair Easy Anti-Cheat:
  1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat
  2. Run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup installer and proceed as instructed
  • Verify integrity of game files:
  1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

Before reaching out, we had already tried:

  • updating windows,
  • repairing anti-cheat,
  • verifying integrity,
  • deleting anti-cheat Certificates folder and repairing / verifying,
  • updating GPU drivers (for both dedicated and system GPUs since it’s a laptop),
  • checking laptop temperatures (appear to be in normal ranges),

We’ll continue trying those new fixes you have suggested.
