Does this game have a built-in fps counter?

i got this game through the xbox app on pc but when i check the xbox overlay it shows everything except for the fps… is there a setting in the game’s options somewhere, or a kb shortcut/hotkey that will display it?

i don’t think so, u should try msi afterburner

Assuming you have the Xbox Game Bar (overlay? I can’t remember what it’s called anymore as it changes) enabled:

  1. Press Start button and the G key at the same time.
  2. Click the Performance button.
  3. The Performance widget should appear, and the FPS counter should start up after a bit.
  4. Move the window to the desired location and click the pin symbol to have it always visible.

that’s what i tried using a unch of times but the fps never actually starts up… it just says “–” the whole time…

MSI Afterburner with RTSS is common. Not just FPS it helps to highlight if any other problems such as heat, throttling, power, memory from both CPU and GPU etc. Better to aid in troubleshooting.

You can make it show multiple stats, change font/colour, re-arrange, font size, positioning overlay over game, so it doesn’t get in the way too much visually.

For example the options I select in it are below to display. Then it sits nicely at top centre of screen.

NVidia GeForce experience has a very simple overlay, and also comes with ShadowPlay which I’ve found to be perfectly good for most things. Obvs NVidia only.

Your monitor might have an FPS counter in the OSD too, but I guess you’ve likely checked that already.
