The blurring and ghosting side effects of these technologies can cause nausea. This can be especially noticeable in melee combat.
Here are some other things that might help you:
- Set Camera Sway Intensity to 0.
- Increase the Field of View to as much as possible without being bothered by the fisheye effect.
- Turn on VSync. The elimination of screen tearing might help. This will come at the cost of some input lag.
- Cap the framerate at 120. Rapid jumps in FPS can cause issues, try to have as stable a framerate as possible.
- Experiment with turning on FXAA, it will not provide a clean image like TAA but it also won’t cause any blurring or ghosting when you move.
- Try to get the Frames per Second as high as possible, even if it makes the game look not as pretty.
- Turn off Depth of Field, Bloom, Motion Blur, Lens Quality, Lens Quality Color Fringe, Lens Quality Distortion, Lens Flares.
While Darktide doesn’t look as nice as it did with the default settings, now I can fight in melee without the urge to spill my guts out.
