Started doing the same. Damnation quickplay is infinitely more difficult than all my pre-made sessions; my most fun games and clutches came from this route! Granted I could get the same if my friends and I could host custom games, but in the current state of things, +1 recommendation here!
I have played suboptimal games in normal damnation. The problem is they are usually kind of dull right up until they are clutches. Then its fun but its more drought than I want when I settle in for an hour of game time.
2 low int ones and one normal damnation atm. lmao
Yeah, the experience is more volatile with higher highs and lower lows I guess. I really think more robust hosting and customization of map conditions would help loads
I look at this thread once in a while, just to see the funny faces you draw.
Yeah its actually kinda insane it does not work like this. It even would make perfect sense to have basically 3 different difficulties inside T5.
Yeah…I queued up for the shocktroop that was up before that. I had to quick help with an errand and literally ten minutes later I come back and its gone. I QP’d a round to try and maybe get into the shocktroop again. No luck. So I ended up in low int damnation sniper/ventpurge. I decided to check my recollection of whether or not it was a snooze fest. IT WAS.
The players in that lobby were kind enough to answer my impromptu survey. This scoreboard is interesting. It clearly indicates there are players who want to play Low-Int and/or aren’t good enough for normal damnation/hi int. So there must be a market for it.
I guess all that is to say its fine if we keep low int. But I should always have a hi-int to play since it seems like there’s pretty much always low-int to play.
I think it’s usually casuals although I do enjoy chill Low-Ints from time to time. Kind of a problem with this forum is I don’t think all kinds of players are well represented here.
Low-Int is good if it’s always on since it’s
Chill and Entry level if you want to check how much damage you take/do.
High-Int is good if it’s (would be) always on since
Some just want the adrenaline rush only and it’s always open for those who want to challenge themselves.
There definitely should be option that caters to everyone and all skill levels. Like i don’t mind those who just want to do casual run to burn time or something, or heck even to just farm for those resources.
I actually often did random cata and even legend quickplays in vermintde when i just wanted to do a quick run before something or i was just waiting for buddies to log in for that modded goodness.
I just wanted to do a couple darktide games before going to bed. No gauntlet available, not even an “insipid” normal high intensity game was playable (it was two low intensity missions). I went halfway through a normal lvl 5 game, and just left because I was soooooo bored. It was sooooo easy! And i’m playing in quickmatch with absolute strangers, btw. And of course I know all the 14 maps by heart because I’ve been supporting this game this launch. Why should I play low lvl content that I know by heart, while facing no challenge whatsoever? Let’s face it, normal lvl5 damnation mission without any modifier is EASY, when you’ve put some hours in this game. I mean, I could play it absolutely drunk, wasted, and do my job correctly and we would be making it to the end, in a lvl 5 damnation map…
To the community managers on this game - Is there any community manager in this company, i’m really wondering now, to be honest??? Long lasting players NEED CHALLENGE, otherwise they get bored. Just look at the number of threads on this forum asking for more difficulties. We are begging, for weeks - if not months -, for an increased challenge in this game, and are given what? a couple days of shock troops gauntlet, where we are having fun as hell, just try harding those high difficulty setting. Failing, retrying, failing again… It’s fun when you like difficulty. and then we go back to this gimmick hunting ground condition (please delete this from existence… for ever) or this sniper-fog absolute garbage crap…
It is a good idea to try to gain more players to play your game, but if in the process you loose 50% of your clients because you have bored them to death, at the end of the road you have even less people actually playing your game… You have one of the most patient fanbase ever - w40k fans - that are able to withstand an insane amount of time without any new content, and that is very forgiving about the actual quality of this content… Don’t push us too far! If I remove the warhammer 40K lore from this game, it would have been long deleted from my computer. Think about it.
Chose to play Coms Plex. Fine game, at least two monstrosities spawned so that was fun. Nothing too spicy though. Pretty methodical game.
But seriously, I can’t remember ventpurge sniper being hi-int since it was first introduced. Probably bugged. I am closing the game and going to do something else.
Pretty sure that’s because vent purge + sniper is already a combination of 2 modifiers and as of yet triple modifier missions don’t exist.
But low intensity ventilation purge snipers exist.
Wait seriously? Lol. Ok never mind then that’s just dumb.
Yeah, its right here actually:
Anyway I’m just not even going to boot the game. I’ve been tallying that in the “closed game” category instead. I’ll play Vampire Survivors instead. At least I know I’ll have a good time and can play something challenging and entertaining instead of some snooze-fest that fatshark has immaculately and indecipherably chosen for me.
Once this thread makes it to 100 replies with no response from fatshark I will be returning my steam review of this game to negative. There have been umpteen threads about this problem, at least two updates/patches since people started asking for a dedicated hi-int slot. it would require literally no effort to do something about it. So yeah. Buyer beware, you can’t play the game like 50% of the time because the difficulty you want just doesn’t exist.
I’ve never played a game that intentionally gates me from playing it and intentionally stuffs my weekends full of unpopular special events that directly prevent me from having a good time. We knew about this problem as a community way back when I proposed these changes to the mission board back in this thread in January. MVP - Mission Board minimal rework
@FatsharkCatfish Please let us play challenging content, the people who stuck with the game even after all the negative backslash are the ones who really like it and put many hours into it and play hardest content.
The new level 2 difficulty players will likely try the game out for few weeks and leave, your most loyal player base are people who play hard content yet we can’t even do that except every second week and even then we have to luck out to get one challenging mission in 4 hours
Ya know what’s worse? Lets say I get a hi-int or hi-int shocktroop mission, like this:
The average mission takes about 30~ minutes but usually these harder missions exceed 30 minutes. So presuming we lose the mission near the end I won’t even be able to requeue it or any mission like it because high odds both missions will just be low int immediately after. So I can’t even feed the greed and keep playing the same hard mode over and over until I win. Thus ruining the gameplay feedback cycle.
Yes it does.
TBH the only reason I returned to the game is to play with my crew.
We did a Damanation run with level 13 char and crap gear, was a lot better than playing lvl 30 char without hi-i Shock troop gauntlet. .
