Added +2 to the count.
I also find it quite revolting that the modifiers are rotating, often putting the shock troop gauntlet unavailable for several days.
I was usually forcing myself to play a suboptimal modifier, or no modifier at all. Now, I just quit the game and go do something else. I sometimes come to check if there is a High intensity gauntlet available, if not, I disconnect. I’m not even interested in playing something else. I find the other “difficulty” modifiers absolutely lame, and that they are often the only possible option if you at least want to do a classic high intensity:
-
Hunting grounds: the worst of the worst, makes a run totally unfun, having the whole team to crouch in a corner for 5 minutes upon hearing the dog event trigger, just waiting for it to be over in order to go back to moving forward with the quest. It’s not even challenging, you will 9 times of 10 get rid of the dogs, while sometimes a very unlucky combination of events will result in a team wipe, further increasing the frustration.
-
Power outings: another totally lame modifier, that I simply will avoid every single time because it DESTROY MY EYES. The low luminosity force your eyes to make an immense effort to keep track of what’s going on, increasing fatigue. After a couple of games with this modifier I will start repeatedly rubbing my eyes in pain.
-
Ventilation system purge and sniper gauntlet: at least it doesn’t destroy your eyes like the power outing, and the sniper event isn’t as lame as the dog one, because upon hearing the event triggering, you don’t just crouch in a corner waiting for it to be over, so I will give those one some credit.
Just increase overall difficulty of the game without using lame ass events, or give us the high intensity shock troop gauntlet available at all times please, like everyone is asking… !
No hi intensity again. Logging off
Here’s an awesome board for you, Hi Intensity Gauntlet up at T2/3 and low intensity dogs for T4/T5. Actual garbage lmao
Yeaaa. I’ve not had a ton of time to play this weekend but its mostly been suboptimal. A few hi-ints mixed in. I don’t like dog mode much and have been avoiding it. Been trying out the chain weapons trying to figure out what things I do and don’t like about them but MAN do I just hate the eviscerator. The chain axe isn’t bad.
I’ve caught a few hi shock gauntlets today
So you’ve found the unicorn dear Sir.
Be careful and keep it safe so that everyone may behold its beauty for it is short-lasting.
Updated a +1 from you.
I understand maybe we’re in the minority of the playerbase, based on some recent player interactions i’ve had. But I still think we should be able to always play something close to the game we want to play at a minimum. Getting double low int or some modifier that we loathe with such a high frequency is horrible. If I wasn’t screwing around with weapons I didn’t know how to use yesterday I would have literally been +4 or more skipped sessions.
They gave us shock troop after week of wait BUT FOR SOME REASON LEFT THE DOG MOD TOO.
So now they share the missions and we barely get hi shock troop. idk why i have to wait 3hours just to play one match that i want
The Mission specific milk men quests are gone anyway. There is no longer a need to artificial force players to play certain missions.
The only left reason for not letting people choose mission, difficulty and modifiers freely would be, when there would be story wise reasons. Where it would have impact onto the mission screen if certain missions would be played less so that there would then appear Hi-Intensity. Or if some missions would be played more and they then switch to low-Intensity. The kind of interactive Mission Board, where players around the world would affect it by their partaking.
But without such a feature, it is just another kind of RNG to justify the existence of the mission screen itself. It’s still a mistery anyway, why there is no possibility to start ‘‘Quickplay’’ over the menu from anywhere inside the Morningstar. If i only choose the difficulty i want to join, why force me to walk there and look at the board? Why have Hi-Int shock troop gauntlet on the board, but only for one mission on malice?
And the HUB is missing something anyway. The HUB is a tiny little fraction of a game lobby. Almost as if the DT Discord would be mandatory to be able to build a pre build strike team. There is no build in group finder tool. The hand full of people on one iteration of every Morningstar is changing all the time and the Morningstar text channel is local to that hand full of people.
So you can not play any mission you want. You can not play modifiers you want. All is dependent on luck. And if you are for whatever reason not able to join the discord, you can not find a pre build strike team.
Obviously I agree with you the way it works currently isn’t good. I think the main reason the mission select is how it is is to improve the likelihood of getting matched with other people by limiting the available mission pool. I do understand the idea behind that but I think they could instead improve this by giving incentives to do quick play. Something like a 20% bonus to all materials/rewards gained for playing through quick play and I think we could be able to let people pick the mission or at least the modifiers without harming matchmaking overall.
Yes something like that. People who do quickplay do not care for the mission type anyway since it is blind pick. They end up in a match and can not even rearrange their gear.
The current system just makes no sense anymore. There are regions that have no people to play with on some parts of the day. And when there are people that right out do not play when there are no missions and modifiers they like, then the people left have even less people to play with.
And i think FS has to be fast on reworking the mission selection. Otherwise the trend of people refusing to play normal conditions could lead to the assumption that the lobbys are dead. And that would lead to a spiral of people leaving, because no one wants to be the last one on a sinking ship.
bro, this post is the truest thing i’ve seen on this forum. havent read all the replies but these maps every night are a complete snoozefest. low intensity after low intensity into plain maps left n right. i rage quit nightly on stream cause of this. pls fix FS
Logged in to play and there is 1 low intensity, 1 low intensity with dogs and one normal damnation. Its supposed to be a week with shock troop but there is not a single damnation one. Nothing to play again
Ouch, you just missed 6 hours of constant HiD specialist rolls. I don’t get why they don’t just make HiD always available…
I got one in last night. Was a fun time. Ran the Chain Axe for it and actually did really well. That mode is such a rush. Seems like i’m in the sadtimes off hours for darktide’s mission board though because evening in the US of A doesn’t usually get the good stuff.
They could literally just revert the shooter damage and aggro radius nerfs, the shotgunner damage nerfs and slap Hi-Int Shock Troops as always on, and call it Difficulty 6 and solve this whole problem. They must all know were chasing that feeling we got trying to get into Heresy/Damnation for the first time out of Malice. That “Holy hel how do I even beat this?!” I presume there’s a balance point somewhere that is roughly hard enough that the win-loss ratio lands pretty squarely at 50% for us super tryhards.
