brother, people have been saying crafting and the grind sucks since launch (actually crafting wasn’t even available on launch which was an another issue). Infact, there was a huge riot after CM said in their discord, “DaRkTiDe IsN’T CaLl oF DuTy” when players asked about customizable weapons such as attachments, along with players asking “why can’t we craft our own weapons” which they replied “CrAfTiNg wEaPoNs DoEsN’t rEaLly FiT tHe tHeMe of the SeTting” hello, we’re in 40k universe, are you sure about that?

Forums was absolutely lit with angry people since the beginning of the game - crafting not being available, crafting locks, crafting grind, cosmetic store being finished first, paying for real money currency to have bits left over tempting players to buy more than intended (i believe director said they just “forgot” to change it in an interview) ranging from psyker being nerfed, ratherdone nerfing dodges and stamina, sprinting being nerfed (in beta it was much faster and felt like an actual sprint instead of a jog), etc. etc. the usual FS nerfs.

The reason why it’s so quiet now is because those people LEFT the game lol, no reason for them to come back. It’s also now harder to say anything since FS implemented forum locks after 7 days.

players back then also gave FS feedback on how to make crafting better WITH locks to compromise with FS. So yah.

Like - In VT2 you can dismantle weapons for weapon dust (green, blue, orange, red, metal scraps) to reroll traits, “blessings”, and make new weapons. In Darktide you get… 1k gold monies. cool. Winds of magic has an awesome crafting feature to make your weapons customizable with essences, we thought they’d add that kind of crafting with DarkTide.

it was also a whole issue at launch with folks on forums being incredibly disappointed in FS as this is their 3rd Tide game and they applied nothing good they learned from developing VT2 onto DT. Many modders fixed VT2’s issues, infact some mods were so good FS implemented it to their own game, such as QoL changes. But too bad, FS and their director (who’s experience is developing gacha mobile games) wanted to make this game live service for $$$$$$$$ and we the players can’t really mod much.

How much do we wanna bet that there’s some kind of end game itemization which is reliant upon these locks which hasn’t been introduced yet, and Fatshark is - to their detriment - allowing their chief source of income to die before actually communicating anything about it?

This is a pretty damn good point. At this point they ought to give in on everything just to get some good will going.

The whole story of Darktide is Fat Shark basically arrived at their own birthday party, (release) and immediately started digging their own graves with shovels at the bottom of a dry pool and have since progressed to digging in a sub basement with a backhoe.

When you go from 100k players to 3k you should most likely just turn over the goods to the community without question instead of trying to act all high and mighty, throwing crumbs to the peasants.

Fat Shark did well at the start because Vermintide had established an excellent reputation. Whatever they come up with next will be viewed with deep suspicion because of how they handed this…and they still haven’t figured it out.

well if this is the case then shi consider me wrong 100% abt people not giving constructive recommendations

i have yet to see one tho, its all just people basically talking about locks, havent seen someone support the idea of locks besides the people who dont care for them like me, havent seen anyone support the idea of locks at all

thats why my point a while ago was that people dont want a compromise clearly, and so to me this whole topic is a farce because its now confirmed that locks will forever stay but people are still pushing for an overhaul, it’s no wonder that people or at least no more than a quarter of people with crafting issues arent giving constructive recommendations or solutions besides full overhaul

us spending diamantine on locks is like FS trying to reward us with XP

locks are useless once u have the perks and blessings that you want in the weapon/essentially saying to remove the locks until youre done upgrading the weapon then u can add the locks back in

see this is good, but only good if all the crafting mechanics stay the same and it only changes specifically the ability to reset a weapon to base stat

basically number one but u added more resources to the table at an undefined amount

and this is just copying v2 red dust/auto full stat upgrade while also completely removing the locks

completely agree with the statement and sentiments, problem is we already have 5 levels for all weapons, and we’d have to spend an ungodly amount of resources to unlock locks cuz essentially once you have one unlocked weapon with a good enough base stat, you dont have to craft that specific weapon ever again

p sure i said “reasonable” solutions in there

but most of the solutions just chalk it up to either spend resources we dont need on locks, add more levels to the weapons, or some other bad idea

the only one integratable is resetting weapons to grey for multiple chances to get the blessing u want without having to burn resources on other brunt rolls

Seriously, did you honestly believe nobody gave FS feedback on RNG and crafting for 8 months?

I already gave the troll a list of 51 things I wanted from back in January.

People were constructive at launch. They were constructive a month after launch. A few were still constructive a month after that.

We don’t feel the need to try that hard at ‘feedback’ anymore. We’re here to watch it burn. If you were out of it the whole time, that’s okay, but maybe you should stop acting like all this is ‘new.’

It’s not even quality trolling.

Damnation missions should require you to be Level 30.

Auric missions should require you to have completed all mission types on Damnation.

This would be better than the current suggested system.

to me, i jus see the lack of constructive recommendations, and no matter the scenario being unreasonable helps no one

by saying you want to see DT burn that only means that whatever criticism you have for the game only means its out of spite without any efficacy, and is more of a reason why FS might not being seeing things eye to eye cuz why bother

imo prolly jus have 3 main issues w this whole thing as some people on both sides would agree on (in some way) ; it being a farce by people not giving any leeway or wanting a compromise, if we had actual good content to talk about and enjoy then many people would be able to put up with the crafting, and people unwilling to give back constructive outrage as one person way early in the thread did

On the off-chance you aren’t a troll, you need to stop posting, read your old posts, and think about how they are gong to come off. I mean, maybe you’re a 14 yo kid with no self control and you just say whatever pops into your head without even looking around to see if you are in heaven or hell, but that’s not a positive state of being either.

Figure out what’s going on before you talk.

no doubt, i honestly have a centrist pov in many things
i just unfortunately both dont relate to some of the crafting issues as much, and in turn didnt want to delve that much into it, on top of the people acting about the locks and didnt want to be associated with some of their, goals or vendettas behind it because imo uneeded as much as content

i rly see this whole community being on the same boat about ALL the issues, just that some people definitely have different wants, needs, and priorities out of the game

but i aint got issues, just gaps in knowledge, doesnt hurt to enlighten others especially when they ask nicely
