Before the patch maelstrom missions had a separate queue from “normal” auric missions, but it seems like the two are now connected. This isn’t a good change because I don’t always want to play maelstrom if I’m just testing a new build and I don’t know if it works well or not.
I’d welcome this change, as quick play drop to a maelstrom to get more rewards.
If it’s just a test of build, I recommend going to the normal difficulty area, after all, a auric level is a auric level.
Regular damnation is a snorefest, I only play high intensity or higher. Testing a build on a lower difficulty is a waste of time because it won’t let me figure out if it can handle the stress of a higher one.
Also, to put it bluntly a lot people queuing for auric have no business being there, they might be level 30 on paper but they don’t know how to dodge, or how to push poxbursters, or what this mysterious object called an “ammo crate” is and why they should pick it up. I don’t mind carrying these people occasionally on auric, but I draw the line at maelstrom. Maelstrom should be opt-in only, it’s not a place to learn how to play or to earn resources.
