First of all, I am disappointed that locks can’t still be changed and there is nothing I can do with my Diamantine.
But Maelstrom missions, damn. Bravo. Chaotic. Hard. Painful. Fun. This the stuff.
The new mode makes it even clearer that many weapons have a level of ability that is completely unsuitable for difficult scenarios, and we need to greatly strengthen these weapons, otherwise you will see that only a few fixed options are feasible, and the other weapons are meaningless.
Not just weapons. Blessings and perks too.

It really shows where some kinda bad outliers are in the “balance” both for how bad they can be and how good some weapons are. The chain weapons are very much so underperforming, for example.
Well come now. Even in Auric you can still win while using the bad stuff.
Under appreciated thing I think a lot of the hardcore veterans won’t have noticed: the normal mission board malice maelstrom mission gives like 80% more xp than standard Damnation. It’s gonna be a god send for helping one of my mates level his first few characters.
I haven’t played much recently so I’ll admit that coming back pretty rusty I’ve only jumped into the normal mission board maelstrom mission so far, got about 3-4 runs of it in last night, but my god it was fun. The specials spawn as weakened monsters is an insanely fun modifier. I was running through with plasma bigger they are Vet and my mate using cluster nades with Ogryn and we were having a blast. Might finally be a mode where T Hammer gets to be a crucial member of the team and I think that’s really cool.
Big kudos to FS for this it’s a great foundation for crazy hard missions they can easily build on over time with new modifiers and combos.
