Offline bot mode is industry standard for these kind of games. L4D, l4D2, payday, payday 2, vermintide, vermintide 2…
All have single player. No their expectations were not unrealistic.

lack of solo is legit why i stopped playing and i know many others who wanted to play but will not without it.
i means its 2024 for the god Emporers sake… this is a staple of the genre now! how is it darktide has gone backwards vs vermintide?

reasons I want solo mode:
- Being able to start a run before my mate is ready, and he can join 15 minutes later.
- Not having to rush to keep up with knife zealots and actually look for some plasteel to pickup.
- Explore the map at my own pace.
- The challenge of completing maps solo.
- Grind certain penances.
- Not having to deal with people
Granted, 2 3 and 6 might fall under the same category, but whatever

Dunno why you can only start a private game with 2 human players (you+someone). Makes absolutely no sense.

left 4 dead type of games require you to have basic human social skills, if i were you i would just wait for space marine 2 that has a singleplayer campaign

Escape from Tarkov and Hitman 3 are games I play with online progression.
Unofficial mods allows to run local webserver, re-direct game app traffic to localhost and configurable progression. Naturally it doesn’t carry over to online progression.
Tarkov - Used to use PvE offline to gain access to all weapons, adjust enemy AI reaction, accuracy, get to play with ALL weapons and ALL attachments I want freely, infinite cash, max traders, explore maps freely and add waypoints etc. Perfect way to practice and try new things before going live.
Hitman 3 - Progression/grind no more. Full access to all map starting points, weapons etc.
Means truly own the game if never have to rely game servers in case they shut down in future and everything unlocked.
“Many More Try” is the mod you want if you want to play solo and progress & collect materials. It allows you to join missions on server instances that are still active but unavailable on the mission board.
