I have been having this launcher issue since skitari got launched as last i played was a month or 2 before hand and since this dlc i have not been able to get past the shaders cache.
i have enabled/dissabled/deleted mods to no avail
have done the appdeta deletion with reinstall with no change, activated and deactivated safeguards that would dissable features that did not work active or not.

I recommend to try the following next:

  • Uninstall your current GPU drivers using a dedicated driver removal tool e.g. DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then to install clean GPU drivers
  • Next, try repairing your .NET Framework installation:

After this, please then try a clean reinstallation of Darktide again (note custom settings e.g. keybinds, graphics, loadouts etc. will be reset):

Sorry on delay as work had me held up.
i have uninstalled my driver and tried to use the net framework 4.7.2 which then said there was newer one i had used the repair tool but that was not able to do anything

i then deleted and reinstalled my drivers as that had broken my pc and its functions without the driver, had done that to then load up darktide and i left it running for 8 hours and it did not open anything so from steam i stopped the game “if you stop the game unsafed data will not be saved” and then re opened the launcher to hit play, loads shaders and again shows this:

did the clean install of darktide as well before opening it and yet this chaos persists

Hm, it’s a shot in the dark, but can you try the following:

Step 1: Disable Steam Cloud Saving

If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the issue to resurface.

  1. Navigate to your Steam library
  2. Right-click Darktide
  3. Select ‘Properties’
  4. On the ‘General’ tab, scroll down to ‘Steam Cloud’
  5. Disable ‘Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’

Step 2: Delete AppData

As with the clean reinstall you tried before -

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory

Step 3: Verify Integrity of Game Files

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

already at the time of testing everything didnt have cloud saving on, just now tried with cloud save on and still had same results.
i activated the cloud save and after launch it was permanently saying i was playing the game but i had it running for 6 hours straight and it never loaded the game, gets past shaders cache, ithen canceled the game from steam which popped up saying if you do this unsaved data wont be saved, pressed ok and then relaunched the launcher and after shaders kept popping up then crash report.
I have no clue what to do.

Are you able to boot darktide via this method

Go to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries

or where ever the Darktide.exe is located and right click to run with elevated (admin) permissions?

i am at work but contacted one of my cousins to try that and they said it worked to open the game to the title screen but kept popping up with back end error

Your steam install is corrupted, reinstall steam

IT IS REVIVED
i deleted all my steam folder files except steamappdata and steam.exe then opened steam again to count as a reinstall
tried to open from darktide.exe but that still did back end error but launched it normally from steam and got into the game past the launcher shader issues.

i am now able to get onto darktide menus now and so far have been able to play for past 30 minutes
