The game has a good core gameplay feel and combat, I think the main issue that it needs addressed is the variety of gameplay and choice the player has.
I’m sure fatshark knows there is a lack of content in the game, darkness, more dogs, more hordes, is not quite enough variety.
In my opinion the fastest and easiest way to fix this is let the players select which modifier they want to play.
Perhaps this is not possible due to developers wanting a different direction, or spaghetti code, if not and we just end up with some other gamemodes like twitch integration, or something akin to weaves/chaos wastes, i guess that will help.
Maybe im not the target audience, and maybe there is server spaghetti too, where running these fixed rotations helps server stability, in that case I guess I will just wait until this game releases a peer to peer or modded realm, which I am doubtful of because they dont want people hacking in the premium cosmetics.
My point is that as someone who has played both left 4 deads, and both vermintides, I would recommend all those games before darktide, and in my opinion that can only be changed with giving the players choice and interesting content, such as gamemodes, fixing talents, not making ogryn feel like crap versus ranged enemies by giving them more suppression.
