Ah, yeah. No I was thinking more like Saltzpyre freeing Sienna to fight the skaven, the party would ally with the necron purely because they’re outnumbered but the expectation would be that they’d go back to killing each other later.

Whether they do that or not would be up to them.

Yeah, iirc the bolt pistol models used by the IG are all specially crafted to fit in a normal human’s hand rather than that of a SM, and I imagine they sacrifice even more of the weapon’s magazine capacity to dampen recoil. I think in DoW the bolt pistols fired in short bursts? But I wouldn’t expect anything other than a Space Marine or a bolter mounted on a gunpod to be firing fullauto.

Think they were called demon hammers or something. I’ll have to look it up later, I distinctly remember seeing one or two inquisitors depicted with warhammer-style weapons in 40k…

Nemesis Deamonhammers are only for Inquisitors and Grey Knights!
They are made specifically for Psykers. Since Grey Knights are all Psyker, technically all can use it. But only the most Badass get them. Its like Psyker Swords and Axes on Astartes. They can imbue the Weapon and Vice Versa i think with more Power!
at least the Psyker into his Weapon. Im not sure if it can Buff Psykers aswell, but guess its more like a Symbiotic Nature so to speak!

Actually i have one 40k Book,. Its about a Squad of Grey Knights, and the Squadleader or Seargent in better Terms wields one Nemesis Hammer. Yeah totally forgot about them!

I see why you said Imperial version and not Space Marines, becasue Technically Grey Knights do not Exist, they are Inquisition Ordo Malleus.

But there are Assassins that use Nemesis Weapons aswell.
Whats really Cool about this “IP”, they can do about everything. Since Inquisition reaches into every Branch.

We could have Grey Knights, since the Ogryn needs to be Taller than the Rest, i hope in Term,s of the Player Camrea and look its higher than on other Characters, like on Bardin its much lower and you are smaller and can feel and see it!

Assassins Branches could be really cool aswell!

Space Marine Deathwatch

The List goes on!

Damn, I seem to remember a normal inquisitor wielding a smaller version of the thunder hammer. I dunno.

According to Google the inquisitor in WH40k Inquisitor Martyr can wield a thunder hammer? I don’t have the game so I can’t check, I don’t know which order the characters in it belong to either.

I think they could get away with weaker power weapons though, like a power hammer that isn’t an actual thunder or demon hammer. Just as long as the distinction between them in terms of their power levels is clear, their general purpose could be the same.

Yeah Grey Knights are kinda weird in that regard.

I wish Fatshark put some minds to what I felt was the biggest problem with their Vermintide games: the speed they are able to produce new content and the speed players consume it before they get bored.

I wish in the future some extra effort was put into building tools which would allow you for “random” map generation, similar to Warframe and maybe borrow some ideas from DOOM (2016) map editor to speed up map creation.

Also some randomly generated player objectives, beyond just going from A to B and the Vermintide daily missions which were quite stale.

  • Find and recover an artefact, documents, weapons etc.

  • Find the faith of some important Imperial official (branching?)

  • Find and defend a location (temple, magistratum building) whilst AI control drop team extracts important assets

  • Kill enemies champion

  • Find and escorts important survivals to extraction point

  • Anything which fits into the W40k theme really and could add to the atmosphere…

I hoped for these for Vertminde games, but I will settle for a new franchise

I have it and yes, there is a Thunderhammer in Inquisitor Martyr.
Even here you wield it without a shield. Maybe they have special Ablative Armor against such Force but i doubt it.
When you read Horus Heresy or 40k theres absolutely no Doubt about the Power you wield with such a Hammer. You cant withstand it without a shield. There is a reason Terminators use a Shield with it. However, Terminaotrs may use One Handed Veriosn not Two Handed.

In the Book is called
GREY KNIGHTS :SONS OF TITANS
its clear that he uses that Weapon without a shield. So he can use his Wrist Mounted Bolter like all Grey Knights have aswell. However they have a special Kind of Armor called Aegis Armor i think, only they have soo…
but its more spoecial because it has about the same or even better protection than a Terminator Armor(there are variations how much protection u have aswell) and you are quite Mobile.
Whats so special about this Armor is that its Holy Writings inside and Runes i think. Its double the Protection against Chaos. The other Protection they have is a Psyker ability kinda like a bond between the Squad. Or a Barrier so to speak. Was a couple Years back when i read it. The Book is alright, but HH is far better than Sons of Titans in General. But they are very Intersting indeed.

Made from the Knights Errants in HH. There however not everyone was a Psyker. That came afterwards!
First ones, were Nathaniel garro, garviel Loken and some other Duded i cant remember. But all of them cool and Interstinf Characters!

This is one reason I kind of push for custom character into the game. It does leave more options for play tries to. In VT2 I am done every mission with each character. And I still wish that they had added more personalities to join in the game.
Even if it is an option to make a none speaking generically, that you can play with the custom characters. This would not need a lot of new voice actors and let players play as a small Imperial guard squad or generic psyker or the like to add some flair to replays.
And again, I think would help having a map builder for mods and character builder for mods as well. Let the game take on a life of its own threw player creation.

Given the pre-fab sameyness we’re likely to get in a Hive City, comprising the levels partly or mostly of randomized parts assembled around set-pieces would be pretty awesome.

Also, Gib Adeptus Arbites pls.

Yes, this would be a decently nice feature to see. The somewhat pulled it off with Fort B. in Verminitide 2 since the map has two different possible paths. I would enjoy something similar for the main missions. They could also take things a step further.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with The Division. That game had a DLC, Underground, which had a central hub that led to missions. Each mission was in the subways of NYC. The maps were randomly generated with with several different mid and end map objectives that were picked at random. They also had random encounters with some decently tough enemies; encounters that could or could not happen. Something like that would be a great feature for either a city or a spacehulk setting.

My knowledge about 40k is very limited. So unfortunately I find it tough to make suggestions about something I know very little about. However, I love team shooters. If a game has a team shooter mode, or is a team shooter, you can best bet I’ve played/loved it. Feel free to add your 40k knowledge to my post since I know umgak all about it. Also, not sure if any of these ideas have been suggested – I only glanced over some of the posts.

TL;DR - I want to see a strong focus on gunplay; weapon jamming/overheating, ballistics, corner leaning and weapon attachments. I’d like to see a greater emphasis on the use of light as a survivability mechanic on some maps (think Blightreaper tunnels). I’d also like to see less passive auras as team support in favor of some more activated auras. All In all, these are just some brainstorming Ideas.

Personally, I’d love to see a greater emphasis on gunplay than what most people are suggesting. This isn’t a rip on any of your ideas and I still want to see melee in the game. A decent example of a more gunplay oriented game with decent incorporation of melee is GTFO. Melee could be a useful tool for stealth (if they should choose to incorporate it). It would also be great if one of the classes was perhaps more melee focused than the other. Having one of the classes as a linesman to hold of hordes would be great.

Anyway, I digress. Let me break down what I mean by an emphasis on gunplay. One thing I would like to see are weapon attachments. This would be a nice way to incorporate weapon modifiers while also making weapons feel fresh and flexible. The ability to craft attachments for weapons could breathe a lot of depth into play style choices and build options. If people want to run a long range build with a short range scope, let them. Allowing us to keep attachments for weapons we’ve crafted (I’m sure there will be crafting) could cut down on the re-roll fatigue I’m sure many of us have felt. It would also be nice to see a deep emphasis on gunplay in general. Weapons jamming and overheating could add an interesting bout of panic mid horde. It would also give us a reason to switch to melee mid horde other than running out of ammo. Additionally, I would like to see the incorporation of weapon ballistics – bullet drop, ricochet, bullet penetration and etc. Oh, don’t forget the ability to lean side to side and a muzzle flash slider (looking at you Deathwing, haha).

I would also love to see a greater emphasis on the use of light. In the trailer, there’s the part when the scout’s light cuts out when they run into the horde. If Fatshark made it so that light was an integral part of some maps (an example is Blightreaper in Vtide2) I’d be okay with that. Scripted or otherwise and similar to the jamming/overheating I mentioned, having your lights cut out could add decent panic to tense moments.

The last thing I’ll mention is this; I want to see a more manual focus to team support. In Vermintide, a lot of your team support comes in the form of passive auras. While passive auras can be great, I feel it lacks a certain amount of attention I feel is pivotal to keeping shooters engaging. A lot of team shooters utilize activated abilities to as a method of team support. I would also like to see a greater emphasis on this. I don’t think they should do away with passive auras altogether. However, the use of manually activated abilities that cooldown could be interesting gameplay wise. I’d like to perhaps see the use of deployable medkits, armor kits, turrets, buff stims and other items as well. Also, it would be interesting to see the incorporation of a destructible barrier to slow/block horde progress. This idea could also play in to the incorporation of weapon jamming/overheating and necessity of light I mentioned. Once class could have the ability to instantly clear jams/overheats. There could also be consumable or cooldown based radial lights. A deployable light stick or something like a glow stick could be an option.

Anyway, these are just brainstorming ideas and some personal desires. If you read any of that, thank you.

Absolutely love this post. It had never occurred to me to have weapon attachments but it would improve the progression, crafting system and build diversity. We could see an emphasis on team play by having different players equip different scopes, ammunition types, flashlights etc (which should be allowed for in a L4D type safe room at the start of the map). It would also help progression and crafting because Instead of just grinding until you get swift slaying, crit chance and pvc or bcr, you can focus on crafting specific attachments and progress by getting a different attachment which you feel would work better with your build or weapon. Weapon rarity then would increase the total number of attachment slots, maybe from 2-6 (white, green, blue, orange, red).

Love the idea of light and stealth mechanics, could balance the use of heavy bruiser characters and devastating weaponry by having them attract more hordes. Can’t remember the name of the game but it’s similar to dark tide with an emphasis on getting through as much of the level as silently as possible to avoid detection by hordes.

I’d also like to see more active skills as opposed to auras as well as unique gear and deployables. Instead of having fire and explosive bombs I think each player should have their grenade slots in their loadout and finding grenades in the level simply replenishes their supplies. Also thinking about maybe having 2 grenade slots base and certain characters could get access to extra slots and unique grenades (Anti Psyker grenade for instance or melta bomb for bosses).

Lastly and most importantly though, there needs to be a focus on making the hordes themselves dangerous as opposed to them being an obstacle to get to seriously dangerous specials and elites. Disablers in particular should only be active outside of hordes, perhaps spawning with a bias near isolated players to really punish them for not staying together. I hate the alternative in V2 where the entire team can be disabled during a horde and just die there and then. Feels extremely cheap and unfair. Maybe to balance it, disablers could be pushed off by the disabled player but they’ll still have taken damage and be vulnerable to attacks while getting back up, as well as giving the disabler a chance to return and screw things up at a later point.

Would also like to see a COD style survival mode, similar to the finale in the Pit

You defiently get Gunplay. LIke posted already, probably 25/75 since it is IMP’s(Imperial GUard) we are Fighting with. They need to stay at Range as long as possible. Yeh they can take on some Zombies but Plague Bearer and such, good Luck. They are not Enhanced like a Space Marine. However, certain Soldiers are definetly Enhanced, especially Higher Rankings and Inquisitors for sure.

But there is melee for certain, sine its Warhammer. However IMP’s comapred to everything else they fight against dont want to melee Lorewise, becasue everything else is stronger and faster for the most part. Doesnt mean we dont can do it, since its Fatsshark. and it would nbe lame not to Implenment it of course!

Ogryns are definetly Melee oriented. They tend to club everything with their Wepons if Close!

Weapon attachements is a tough one in 30/k and 40k. They write that they Customize their Weapons, but its more artitistic than Attachements for the most part. They have Sensors intheir Helmets and whatnot so they maybe only need Scopes or make the Weapon more finetuned and comfortable for themselvs. If you Read “Nemesis”, its about a Squad of Inquisitorial Assassins. Btw they would make a perfect Class Oportunity for Characters indeed!!

Vindicare Sniper
What you expect. Hardcore Sniper, with lots of different Ammo for the Job and a Custom Rifle fitted for Pedrsonal use

Cullexus
A Pariah(Null Psyker) cant be seen in the Warp, and his Helmet is a ctually a Weapon. It can shoot a Beam of Anti Warp Energy, that Destroys Demons and such
image

Callidus
Infiltration Expert. Very Fast and Agile. Uses poison and a Nemesis Sword. Some of them dont even have genders anymore i think. They can Morph into whatever if they have Genedata on the Persons.
image

Eversor
A poor Bastard that is Brainwashed and Rage Fuelled and gets lots of different Drugs pumped into him. Super Strong, and super Fast, even faster than a Callidus. They rarely have any Humanity left in them. and they love to fight

Yeah these would fit more than perfect ionto that Game i feel.

The Last Assassin would be
VANUS
A Hacker and Tech Assassin. Can Hack everything and sets up Communication ,Jammers and uses Cameras he hacked for Information gathering for example.
He could be made a excellent Support Character, that with Active Skills buff your other Players.

About Flashlight. I did a Topic on that. From what we seen in the Tease, it looks like Flashlight have Batteries that charge and or can be disturbed by the Warp to give more Tension inside the MIssion. Warp can disturb Technicall Devices such as Flashlights and Sensors!
Makes the Game more Tense and Scarier. In the Tease you see Two Guardsmens Flashlight Flickering or even go out a t one point so Thumb up for that!

I feel that Passive Auras are still better, since its hectic enough to Fight. You have your Ulti Skill which is Proactive and your Passives. If you add more Active Skills, its will get to be a spam fest, which would suck in my opinion.
But im open to that and some classes maybe even Great for this!

Tarrantula Turrets and such as SKills for Area Denial like i already Posted. Something like that would bne cool. Or one certain Character, since he has a Servitor , it could be upgraded to a Weaponised Version for sure, like in Deathwing.

MAybe even a Mechanicum with Automatons, that would be so neat.

Please give us a Legio Cybernetica, with Castellans, that would be sooo sweeet!

I didn’t know them but usually dedicated support Character/Class are not a good thing in this sort of game as it either become useless or become the meta and force people to play a less aggressive/fun character/class.

I don’t think it would work since they usually work solo and in stealth (With a high priority target)

Nurgle doesn’t really use that much Spyker so his speciality would be situational at best

Vindicare are not simply Sniper, they are expert on pretty much any Gun play so it would be quite cool

Eversore are the one who fit the most since they are close quarter operative, and are awesome

Did they change the lore on the Assassin temple ? I had never heard or Vanus and Maerorus (But I already knew Venenum) and there were a few minor Temple that were named but I can’t seem to find them (I know some of them were passed in the Officio Sabatorum) ans one of those Temple was specialised in Incendiary Attack and destruction, maybe flamer guy is not a karshin but an assassin and his first Class would be from the Officio Sabatorum, and the 2 other would be Vindicare and Eversor

This Temples are all represented in the Book:
“NEMESIS”
super nice read. Its fom Horus Heresy and is i think between the 9th- 11th Book, bunt dont quote me on that. Its a nice change since its all bout Space Marines normally.

Assassins from all 5 of these Temples “Team up” to Assassinate Horus Lupercal!

BTW, U5 is not a common group aswell, so it would fit for sure. In Lore there is couple of Incidents when they have to Team up i think. Just on total Meltdown like HH.

First of all, all of them work alone for the most part, or Grouped up in Teams odf their own Temple, but not all the time.
Vanus groups up with about everyone, except maybe Callidus, becasue they can Morph and dont need it probably.

Yes, Vindicare youre right about him. Weapons Expert. But i think they like the Snipers most. This is how they are portayed for the most part.
Eversor maybe too Powerful, he could wreck the whole Map alone maybe?!

Cullexus can fit in. Yes, hes a Pariah, but still, you can use his abilities against Demons, not only Psyker. He Destroys Demons, not only banishes them.
Its like Sisters of Silence. They a nice Story in Horus Heresy aswell. Demons cant get into a certain Range of them, because they have a Presence like a Bubble of some sort. Yes, they can Penetrate it, but only with heavy Losses.

All of them could fit in nicely for sure!

I almost completely forgot: please let us change builds (talents, gear, everything) on different careers on the same character without changing to that career (or better yet, include it as a menu containing all characters/careers that you can access from any character/career).

It was annoying having to change to specific careers to equip new gear and talents, even more so if it was for a character someone else was using at present in your lobby. This would be a huge QoL improvement (on top of hopefully having a much better equipment system than VT2 to begin with).

Some good ideas about playable character races and classes:

I want someone in the team to say “These stairs go up” and “These stairs go down.”

I actually do not want stupidly overpowered altered people like the callidus and vindicare. I just want a 4 man (or 5, it doesn’t matter) team of unaltered humans like the people in Eisenhorn’s band. (If you haven’t read the Eisenhorn books go and flagellate yourself, and not in a good way with trousers round ankles and big light dimmed.)

Talking about lighting, although it’s supposed to be grimdark, let’s not make it so dark you can’t see sh!t. I don’t want a muzzle-flash strobe light slideshow like Deathwing.

I just want four guardsmen handpicked for their unique skills sent on what they consider a suicide mission. No imperial Thunderhammers, No extreme bionics - just four humans facing down the worst the galaxy can throw at them. Maybe a battered powerfist or a powersword or something is the pinacle of what they have access to.

Sheer human courage and faith in the EMPRAH will win through!

No RNG loot box crafting bulls**t. Make the Athanor and Lohner’s Emporium the standard. I don’t mind grinding, but I hate randomized rewards and duplicates. Seriously, cut this crap out.

If you are going to have Deeds in Darktide, make sure there is a deed lobby from day 1.

Don’t have grims/tomes in Darktide. This mechanic is DULL and platforming in Vermintide is God awful and slows down the game. Tie increased rewards to difficulty spikes, like Twitch mode or localized extra spawns for ‘picking up a book’. This makes the game more replayable and is a lot more varied and interesting than depriving players of a healing item or potion.

If you are gonna have Darktide weaves then release it with a proper matchmaking system or sell it separately from all the other standard quick play content. I don’t appreciate having to purchase content only designed for pre-made teams because it’s bundle with a map I want to play and some cool new weapons. Treat your audience with respect and sell content for different modes separately.

I noticed the word “convict” in the announcement, i wonder if (wish) the mission givers will treat us like less than dirt.

otherwise, for my want list :

  • lots of enemy types
  • lots of v2 references
  • Jesper Kyd soundtrack
  • v2 dialogue writer to work on darktide dialogue
  • someone worse than kerillian bullying everybody based in performance (possibly a higherarch)
  • unique mechanics to every map (if possible)
  • non essencial NPCs that you can save (if you can) or murder at will or just abandon
  • characters who clearly hate one another
  • alternative paths (if possible more than two each with its consequences)
  • gestures (point, clap, thumbs up, thumbs down, shrug)

i bet some of these were already in their plans.

Forget completion based reward, make it progression based. Don’t let players waste 20-30 min on a map to wipe to an unbalanced / badly designed end event.
Improve content creation so that people don’t have to wait 9 months for 3 maps which you spoonfeed one by one once they are done.
No season crap where you spend 2 months out of 3 making a new game. And change that developement system of yours so that new patches don’t bring back old bugs.
