Alongside Core gameplay and OST, VA are one of the best thing in Darktide since Day 1.
Back then at first I wasn’t expected much after having played too many hours with the Ubersreik Fives and know everything about Hoggard’s Bridge but I was actually surprised even if it’s less personal since we played one character with thousands other rejects/operatives.
And yes I want to know more about heretics VA, the trapper crank me up and have the best day of her life … Unlike us !
It’s clear to see that so much effort and care had been put into this. Because of how many different lines there are it feels almost like Hades’ voice acting in that way. The context engines are really delicate and sometimes you get really rare and awesome voice lines.
My favorite is actually a glitch/bug I saw with the new release: When Tashinga Bepete (Savant Psyker) is going over his lines, messes one up, and redoes it, but the WHOLE CLIP is in the game.
Then, of course, the Psyker and the Ogryn are always wholesome and really make the two characters come together. It always makes my friends and I laugh that the savant psyker is usually the most socially well-adjusted member of the party.
It’s good world building, it makes my character feel fun to play when they have their banter.
Would love to hear some of the rarer voice lines now that I’ve played the game for a real long time instead of getting some common recycled ones. The only criticism I have for the voice-over lines is that I want more of them. How could you give me something so fantastic, and only give me a modest amount!?
And approximately 5.2 million Alt+F4s pressed… ?
