Crafting and RNG re-worked - following design intent(?)

You need to check the modifiers, not the general ranking of the weapon. 380 is the max. I am not at home, cause I could upload a picture of a 380 weapon (i have only 1 for my 3 characters) but here check this one. It is a 324 not 444.

Weapon

You can see the maximum value of the weapon’s properties in the inspection menus when you mouse over the bars in the lower left. Like, I have a tactical axe at 80%, so it’s 12% crit chance bonus, but the actual max is 15%, which is for whatever reason entirely unattainable right now.

I have not been suggesting more currencies in any post I’ve made.

Any system would be time-gated unless they make it an Athanor that doesn’t need upgrading. The question is only for how long and how much player agency you get in the meantime. The current system and most suggestions I’ve seen contain some degree of RNG (my suggestion included), and forces you to gather currencies and to invest time. I guess the major question would be to choose whether to tune it to someone playing 40h per week or 4h per week (or somewhere in between). Either way, some people will experience a long grind while other will be done in a short-medium time.

I’m not sure about a min. cap at 360 starting at damnation, but a system like that would make sense if it’s combined with the opportunity to choose 1 out of 3 rewards each mission or something along those lines. It would incentivize the player to move on to harder difficulties for increased chance of getting better gear, while better gear is also required for a lot of player to start attempting the higher difficulties.

My main gripe with a large gape between min - max (20 modifier points in this case) is that it’s combined with all the other RNG. Even if you had a selection of three weapons after each mission, it’s would still be three out of quite a few possible versions of that weapon.

I too belong to that category. The suggestion here is trying to balance the need of both “grinders”, and the people who play for other reasons, while acknowleding that a lot of people do need goals to work towards in order to enjoy the game (be it gear, penances, or higher difficulty/more challenge).

If you’re talking about the 80% modifier stat score rather than the total modifier score, the obviously some numbers would have to be changed in the post. I’m assuming 380 total with a current max of 80% for now. The remaining 20% maybe arrive with a higher difficulty or maybe won’t arrive at all. The total score of 380 could either remain or be upped to basically any number up to 500, unless FS change the design in a more radical way.

You just described a perfectly normal, balanced and functioning system conducive to satisfication.

That’s not very lore-friendly.

Well, I personally like working towards things, but in Vermintide that’s all those weird challenges or completing all levels on Cataclysm. That was my goal and I don’t think I would have stuck around if I also did not have numbers to climb towards… a bit weird really… the gameplay is solid but I need to see a number go up… FoW on Cataclysm is the one thing I never managed to do.
