Crack Theory: Sefoni is a Tzeentchian Daemonhost

I made a post about this previously, but I’d like to make a thread on it in the dedicated forum now that we have one. The following few paragraphs are copy/pasted verbatim.

Sefoni is a Tzeentchian Daemonhost. who in their right mind would have a Psyker of immense power just floating in a tank, speaking psychically to everyone? Some of her dialogue (w/ Krall in World’s Worst Cargo Elevator) says that jinxing is a real phenomenon in the 40k universe, and she did Something to Morrow.

With how creepy she is, the tattoos on her body, and her clear psychic strength, plus the trend of Inquisitors making Daemonhosts for giggles, it all adds up to some warp entity possessing someone’s body, erasing their soul and taking it over for themselves. There’s no contest of will to be seen here - Sefoni is well and truly in full control, and all of the gadgets attached to her are to restrain her.

My crack theory is that it’s a Tzeentchian daemon possessing her, and Grendyl, in a fit of pure idiocy and desperation, struck a deal with the Trickster God, asking it to turn the tide of the War for Atoma in their favor, by granting the Strike Teams undetectable boons. It would explain why our characters are able to survive hundreds of missions without losing limb or mind (PC deaths are non-canon), and kill thousands of heretics all the while.

Tzeentch goes along with this because as the god of change, he’s natural enemies with Nurgle, the god of stagnation and decay. He also thinks it would be funny to help the Imperium for once, and get back at his best frenemy.

Woah… the pieces do fall in place! Nurgle and Tzeenth hate each other very much so it’s very much possible one is trying to screw the other.

That does leave different question… will either Space Marine 3 or Darktide 2 will be focused around relcaiming Atoma from Inqusitorial Tzeentchian cult?
Or, you know, just very short mission in Battlefleet Gothic: Moebia.
Mission: Exterminatus.

Her being a Deamonhost seem quite logical, she is chained in a similar manner.

i’ve actually heard of this one before, pretty interesting, i kinda hope it’s true.

You’ve heard it before because I posted it in a thread, but since this section of the forum was created, I decided to repost it here.

Interesting idea, not all that crackpotty when it comes down to it. Jinx is a canonical divination-school psychic power, so not necessarily tied to Tzeentch in any specific way. So are the capacity for remote-viewing and long-distance telepathy.

A few of her many voicelines can be interpreted to hint in the direction, though they are quite ambiguous and have other just as plausible interpretations. Others seem to go against it more unambiguously. For example one of her voicelines is “I hate Tertium’s politicians. So many lies … ugh, they make my head hurt.”

A daemon of Tzeentch wouldn’t hate lies, or get headaches from them. Of course we can always just stipulate that the voiceline itself is a lie.

Another fact is that she’s in a room that has the Adeptus Astra Telepathica symbol on it, which is the organization that recruits, trains, and employs most Imperial psykers. It’s not clear why a room housing a daemon-host would have that symbol on it. I would also assume the room itself would need to be heavly marked and warded with hexagrammatic wards, not to mention basically plastered floor to ceiling in purity seals.

It’s entirely possible she’s just an extremely strong psyker. A common side-effect of strong psychic power use is the psyker starts floating. It’s a common tell that they are digging deep. For her to maintain such levels of telepathy as her voicelines imply she is, it would make sense for her to be in that state most of the time. She also has some sort of implant connection to the tank she is in, implying it might be a very advanced/large version of a psychic hood, which would help boost her psychic powers.
