While there might be something that makes the game take longer to load or what ever the reasoning is for not having you actual gear on the end of match-poses, could we perhaps get more of them?
Maybe for mastering a weapon or doing X amounts of kills?
While it is just a random thought, maaaaybe it could even help with diversifying the weapon meta a tiny bit seeing that people are using various weapons?
When you put it like that I imagine it would be too much of a “mvp” thing and be a no go.
Maybe if you kill some type of enemy or thing they did so that everyone gets one, but there can be one player who has most kills, least damage, most specials and elite kills, most dodges etc…
So I think reactive poses are a no straight from the go.
I also thought about team/class/friend-poses that were “poses multiple people do together”. It would be cool, but not sure how it would work.
THATS what a mvp should look like after a good clutch or carry
i got one, ogryn tossing the snivelers into one big sack and throwing it into the valkyrie
maybe if people see themselves getting the santa-treatment often enough they ponder on improving rather than staying content with the “i helped approach”
i swear i currently feel more and more like :
just put me back into that fridge
cause seriously, cumbaya group shots are the literal darktide variant of
oh, got one btw for the WORST performer in the match
insert language of choice
to think back in the day at release demolition man was a “meh” movie compared to what was around and serves now as a prophetical warning as to not wuss-ening down to
I’m not the one making the rules at Fatshark//Games Workshop/Tecent - whoever it is calling the shots.
Comparison for a team that works together can absolutely be used in a good way. You can see that oh crap, that guy I thought did nothing had a ton of kills or did objectives and revives. It can help with your builds seeing your damage output or damage taken. Accuracy, resource management (ammo and heals), who stayed in coherency and who was a loner.
It is info, and can be interpreted any which way out of context. Good and bad.
I can see Fatsharks point of view, if we are nice and say “people are having a bad day”, calling people this and that… Yeah a scoreboard to fuel their fire with “facts” can easily become toxic. Same with any poses of the sort. I would say the poses are FAR more forgiving in that area though.
People who play together, like x amount of missions or through the campaign could easily be stuff where you make “buddy-poses”
well the killfeed alone would make pretty obvious who’s having the upper hand on that front, and thats a vanilla game option.
what scoreboard helps to sort out is the details in which damage or kills was done.
gross outliers like staff psyker or gun scum cant shake off their cheesyness anyways, so any numbers there are mere
i dont have a problem with options, quite the opposite.
give any pose or whatever to the folk that want em.
but as in any option for any kind of player,
should be the mere basis, not being “cautious” if someone gets “hurt” over said ones.
this rewarding of denial is why we got here in the first place.
a good hard rubbin’ in so far always sobered even the most delusional wannabe for decades now, when
wasnt even a word used in that context but for chemistry and handling dangerous materials with a forklift
strange how everyone of us in the 90s still grew a pair and didn’t jump from the next bridge.
nah, the true irony lies in the fact that on one hand the game shies away from confronting players with their shortcomings yet at the same time gives so much power to the individual that those in the same match with you feel like a unwanted nuisance to get in your way at the most inconvenient of times, taking from “your enjoyment” while not delivering anything you’d need apart from the odd disabler removal.
why bother with a soccer team if you regularly score and win the match by yourself?
now at one point, ai enemies aint the mark to surpass anymore cause one has been there and done that, but seek comparison with others in order to “be better”
basic human nature, competition is in our DNA.
so at the end of the match having that pose among consenting participants, whats the issue to show the mere fact that indeed one dude must have been better than the rest for its almost impossible to have 25% equal distribution.
and no, guys that “opt” for smyker etc dont “help”, they decide to go the snooze route while others do the labor, them scoring less IS the result of them doing less and should be displayed as such.
last event match was done in just shy of 13 minutes and that was with everyone killing everything as fast as one could in order to get a piece of the action
as much as doom and quake shaped my sense of how fast paced a fps game should be, this rat race is just the epitome of wrong balancing.
granted buffs n all but even without events, auric maelstroms are between 15-18 minutes if 4 people know what they are doing.
how is it a score or display of who did best is a “no-no” when everyone and his mother is racing his butt off the get stuff before the other dude gets there?!?
shortly after launch, damnation HISTG was peak darktide for you genuinely wanted the dudes to succeed with you and felt positive toward them adding something to the match.
today its one cheap button press or dlc class that hogs the killfeed without any effort.
whats the saying, dont hate the player…
ironic as well, due to the extreme power of a single person, those once rejected by a storyline now most of the time reject each other during a mission
