Constant Consistent Crashes

Came back to the game recently and each session I try to play I have the same consistent crash problem of pressing play official real twice with a crash, then the game works, but after I join a game it crashes again(this does not happen if I host). Pressing play game again makes the game launch fine and I can play it for hours, but this crash problem comes up each time I try to play the game the next day. I have tried verify games files, updating drivers, deleting Vermintide 2 in the app data and playing on a lower graphics quality, but none of this has helped. crash logs below.

Sorry to hear this. To start with, could you please try repairing Easy Anti-Cheat using the EasyAntiCheat_Setup executable located here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat

Unfortunately this didn’t seem to fix the problem and I still got a crash on startup and one again after trying to join a game.

Unfortunately this did not fix the problem. (sorry if this got send as a double message i’m unsure if my first reply went through)

That’s unfortunate. The latest crash report provides us with some more information though, which is helpful. Could you please try:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% into the search input
  3. Navigate to \AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
  4. Right-click ’ user_settings.config ’ and open in Notepad or a similar program
  5. Locate the line that says ’ deadlock_timeout = 15
  6. Change the number 15 to 60
  7. Save your changes
  8. Re-launch Vermintide 2

I’d be keen to know whether this helps. Keep us posted!

Still got the same crashes after changing the number.

Oh no. :frowning: I need to speak with one of our Engine Developers about this, but unfortunately there will be a delay until next week due to the Easter break, apologies.

All good have a great easter!

So it appears your crashes are occurring in a DLL that belongs to the Steam overlay. Could you try disabling the Steam overlay please?

Doing this has stopped the crashes on launch!, but i’m still getting crashes after joining a random game

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I tell everybody this as it seems to happen to a lot of people. Are you using Player List Plus mod? And if so, turn off smaller network packets. It can cause crashes when connecting to other people’s games, but allows you to host just fine.

I uninstalled all the mods I had installed when I was troubleshooting, but thank you anyway!

Hmm, it looks to be the same crash. I’ve spoken with our Engine Developer again who recommends:

Reinstalling my drivers seems to have solved the problem. Thank you very much for all your help!

I’m very pleased to hear that. Thank you for the update!
