Congratulations, Fatshark. You did it. You broke me. I'm done

It’s not 5%. Thrust IV is the difference between a 1 shot and a 2 shot. Or put in more understandable terms
It’s between spending 6 seconds unable to dodge or merely 3.

On what breakpoints?

Depends on if he’s using crucis or ironhelm.
5 stacks of sustained assault, 5 stacks of head taker, Thrust IV, Carapace 20% just barely puts you into crusher mauler 1 shot range.
Thrust III can’t reach that, and obviously neither can Thrust II or I. A point worth noting given that each empowered thwack leaves you unable to dodge for over 2 seconds during it’s recoil.

Fair enough.

I’ve yet to see flechette/man stopper and warp flurry 4 fwiw too lol

I’m probably missing some others.

When i recently returned i saw me listed, althoug i’m actually playing and having fun again, keep me listed it’s just a matter of time i quit/ pause because of rng crafting

I know FS Strategy is exactly this as long as they have their hardcore fans who don’t stop playing and have 1500-2000 hours in the game now and are the base community plus
people like me returning once in a while on top and eventually buying stuff is all the need.
And of course some new players here and there, because game gets played, gets updates, gamepass or special offers and discounts.

Agreed it makes a diference, but one can have fun and be victorius with good and not perfect gear.
This said, i know there will be that day i want or need the perfect gear because of breakpoints and if i dont get it , fun dwindles maybe.

The best meta is what is the most fun, but we all want to make it more easy to have fun and to some the most fun is min-maxing to perfect BIS Gear.
Nobody can really opt out of this i guess and FS know it and use it.

If the core gameplay wouldn’t be so much fun, the game would be long forgotten.

Force swords were nerfed, twice. They lived and died by meaningful Slaughterer (removed) and lived and died by infinite dodge (removed). Depending on how far back you want to go… BB was nerfed. Voidstrike was nerfed. Peril damage was hard nerfed in patch 13 (used to always give 10% damage, now it starts at 0). Warp Charge builds were almost removed from the game, because they built quickening into it. All enemy health has gone up, but the Staffs continue to do laughable DPS. Stacks of soulblaze on elite kill was nerfed. And then more recently, assail was nerfed. A bug that meant Surge staff was actually usable, was removed, despite the damage simply being comparable with every single other class. Of course, the damage shouldn’t be there because of a bug, but the damage should be there.

Outside of gunpsyker, the keystones are laughably bad. The talent tree is, over all, complete crap for Psyker. Too many things are blocked off, forcing you down build paths - not to mention nothing is even remotely impactful enough.

Surge staff did not deserve to do the damage it did. It was also not just “on par” with other classes. It would instantly delete entire crusher packs with no special cooldowns popped or resources lost.

It also does not need to be aimed in any real capacity, and it locks down things as it kills them.

Still murders crushers and bulwarks safely just not instantly.

Even if it was just on par it would still be problematic with it not consuming ammo, and being soft AoE.

Assail is in a good place now. You shouldn’t be able to use it as a primary until something with carapace shows up to be deleted by the Mk IV Dueling sword.

Voidstrike could absolutely use a boost though since its a slow projectile I think giving it a huge headshot multiplier would be good.

Trauma needs a bigger AoE + slightly faster charge. Conflag staff is great. Get that again.

I’ve not tested purgatus so I’m not comfortable commenting on it.

I agree with you on the void charges. I think the base damage node and the 6 charge node should be baseline, and the CD node should be the last modifier node so it can be avoided if chosen. Saves some talent points as well.

lol Psyker isn’t as bad as you make it sound.

I urge people to try Voidstrike as a crit machine build with Disrupt Destiny.

Great fun and crits for every heretic. I can elaborate on my build further if anyone asks.

Does that involve the Surge blessing I’ve wasted over 2 million ordos trying to get?

It’s not 5% it’s 15% (if it’s not multiplicative, if not it’s even more).
And you may think that 5% damage doesn’t make much difference but if it’s is what you need to reach a 1shot breakpoint it literally means that you can kill things at double the speed. It’s a huge difference.

Yeah, crafting sucks. But also it’s only a game in the end, dont let it get to you. It’s not that serious in the grand scheme of things. If you arent having fun then i definitely think it’s beneficial to just stop playing. I’m sure they will over haul crafting in the future

Yes that’s required unfortunately. But I’ve one tapped 6 shotgunners before with a crit. Very satisfying.

The very first thing I did once I got a decent surge voidstrike was one shot a bulwark. Very fun.

True Aim abuse with surge makes voidstrike quite strong.

the break points arent the problems its the blessing and locks ive spent probably the same amount this dude has trying to get any level of Flechettes and the burn blesing on the trauma staff each it should not take actual weeks of grinding for me to try a new fun build ive theroy crafted

Like the crafting is so bad that i load into a mission have honestly a lot of fun and forget why i keep quitting then roll a weapon and insta close the game i can only force myself to play like 1 round a day beacuse i only have one build thats any fun on each class due to lacking interesting blessings that make new fun builds. like ogryn i rolled over 100 autostubbers just to get charmed reload of the lowest rank

The crafting system feels like pushing a rock up a hill, which randomly rolls down to the base. No way of stopping it. No way to influence when it happens. All you can do is decide to stop rolling.

I still have not tried out the new vet shovel, or gave the new chainsword much of a spin. Interacting with the crating system is nothing but torture. You visit Brunt, feed him dozens of hours worth of Ordo, just to get a few rolls that are not random garbadge. Then it is Hadrons turn. You hand her your piece and give her Steel, and she mocks you with her joyous quotes about how marvelous the outcome of her “upgrades” are.

FS wrote they “steer to avoid randomization and repetitive actions” with their crafting system. That it will revolve around “meaningful choices” and some sort of “strategy”. Ridiculous claims.

The funniest bits about the crafting system are probably how the weapons that should invite experimentation the most, the ones with many diffrent Blessings, are the worst ones to experiment with. Getting a decent staff, or saber with the Blessings you want is in comparison a relaxed task. It is a nightmare to even gather all the Blessing of a Thunderhammer. (I also still miss Thrust IV after 1k+ hours of gametime.)

Maybe if you buy some skins from the macrotransaction store with monopoly money you’ll feel better?
