They definitely tried to implement things from DRG, I agree. I didn’t follow Dark Tide to closely, heard hive city and thought, we’re getting generated maps for missions, sick! Wrong, so very wrong.
I’m glad you were able to find your way to Deep Rock Galactic, it really should be in every gamer’s library. Damn near close to a perfect game and developers are very generous with content and access. The game never fails to get a belly laugh from me during game matches. Since we both have the game, “We’re Rich!”
In my opinion they did copy some V2 stuff, but even that was half baked. Like the existing classes we got that are, according to Fatshark, completely different to careers.
Yes 12 thousand people in one place at one time is a decent amount. But 12 thousand spread across the globe gathering on the internet is nothing. It’s like using a pinch of salt to de-ice all of Detroit. lol
I know not what you mean. Theirs 12k people on the morningstar during peak hours and then half of them fly down to tertium to fight nurgle during off hours.
Still couldn’t do it even with fully implemented crafting. You’re always at the risk of a bricked item upon upgrading as even perks and blessings has some of them being more rare than others.
If they’re going to surprise us with hey, we’re letting you reroll all perks and will let you attach two new blessings… Sure, we could experiment, but you’re still at the mercy of the RNG store.
Many of these sorts of in-community eccentricities look pretty cringy from the outside even if they’re beloved by the community itself and would probably be loved by those outsiders if they did join in.
It doesn’t help when it comes across as very ‘reddit’. That alone is going to drive some people away…
Eh, some people are just contrarians. Hearing people talk overwhelmingly positively about something they have no experience with makes them dislike it, as though strangers are supposed to talk less about things they enjoy because of some joyless schmuck they don’t know.
People make associations between a thing and the people who like (or dislike) the thing. In this case, there’s an association between DRG and the stereotypical cringy redditor.
"NUUUUUUU!!! you have 2 liek my reddit maymays! Every1 downvoat dem quickwly!!! r-rok and shoan!!! RORK AN SHTONEEE!!! "
Urgh.
But sure, I’m not allowed to find your reddit culture annoying, that’s impossible, it couldn’t possibly be annoying, I’m clearly just a mindless contrarian, apparently. lol.

Very true. I think once people are fully into these gaming communities they lose perspective on how they look to outsiders. DRG isn’t the only one, but it’s one of the worst for it, especially as it’s so ‘reddity’.
