Issue Description:
This issue to me feels like there’s two parts to it, the hack itself, and the elevator section right after.
The hack
The area in which you do the hack is laid out so that you have the most cover when you hover near the hack location (There’s like a smaller room and that contains the hack point as well). Staying together is usually the best course of action in this game and many mechanics incentivize to do so.
However, if you are holding the room I spoke of, the person hacking is very vulnerable to enemy fire and melee from all sides. The hack point is seen from everywhere else on the area and gunners usually fill the entire room, so you either have to clear them all and keep it clear using ranged weapons from near the hack location, or you have to send other players to keep ranged aggro on someone else. The latter usually results in people taking huge damage from everything since enemy spawn points seem to be placed so that it’s really hard to avoid damage.
Not maybe a problem in of itself, but as the title says, it for me definitely feels harder than on other maps. Not a problem also with people who are already familiar how the map works, but when there are newer players on the squad it’s really hard to finish the hack.
Elevator
This one is probably the weirdest part for me. Every enemy that was left alive when entering the elevator, will follow the squad. And they do so by coming up behind them, jumping down from a ledge that sits right on top of the elevator. Why? First of all, there’s no other sections where this occurs in the game so nobody expects this to happen. On harder difficulties there can be 5 shotgunners shooting you in the back + an entire squad of whatever else.
Generally speaking nothing spawns behind they player in this game, but in this section the whole chasing party comes behind the squad, doesn’t make sense to me.
Does someone else have thoughts on this section specifically?
I would like to see a rework for that event anyway.
But to your points… i can follow your thoughts, but i don´t think it´s harder. If anything it´s more annoying, because a lot of players can´t play well together.
This event is pretty much the same like the one on Khasma Trainstation if i remember correctly. It´s at some point even easier, because the enemies spawn mostly on the left side of the room instead of “everywhere”.
Also the gunners will mostly sit back, so you can easily fall back and clear hordes etc… meanwhile your Vet or a Psyker will take out the gunners one by one.
There´s also something a lot of players forget, because they´re too used to their builds. If you know this map is coming and you´re Ogryn / Psyker, you could easily go for the Shield / a Force-sword with reflect if you´ve some. It´s nothing else like using “boss-killer” weapons on boss maps etc…
About the elevator… there are similar maps but yeah, none of them has enemies jumping pretty much in the elevator. Dunno if it´s a bug, but i personally highly welcome any variety. And i mean… if you hear specials etc… just wait a moment and kill them instead of rushing the elevator “to be safe”.
I get your issue about it, but if you´ve seen it once, you´ll know about it and take your time.
In every other Map, when ever there is an elevator or air lock door, you take the enemies you left alive with you to the next area. Always. That’s the reason you clear a horde before you go into the next passage. Otherwise you will take them right into the next encounter and have to fight them on top of the new encounter.
This is pretty much what I meant. It requires more teamwork than most of these types of sections. With a good group it’s like a hack section like any other.
You bring up good points though. I think it would be cool to have more variety as well, but the way that it happens on this map is just kind of weird and unexpected (I’m speaking about the rifleman + shotgun squad appearing behind you).
They don’t come from behind you, that is the difference here I am aware of that otherwise.
EDIT: I was a bit unclear about this in my post, I specifically meant the part where they all come from behind you. In other maps there is no spawn point for them to appear there. Instead they come ahead somewhere.
They come from behind in many maps. When you are in that map where you have the circle area with the single hack point, where you have to drop down from the heal station point. They drop down right behind you above the door. And in most other areas they just come in by the doors left and right.
And the best solution for pug teams is that you ping a shot ‘‘look there’’ Eye symbol on the ledge.
For the other part, yes that is a strong fight in that room. not just because of the many doors they come from. But mostly because that room is so dark, that some gunners are hard to be seen and can keep shooting, while Snipers, Gunners and Bombers build pressure.
Also can you remove the explosive/flammable barrel from the hack room. It serves no purpose other than be a detriment to the players. If enemies are in that area it forces players out into the open or worse it makes the hack near impossible to do unless you stand on it opening you up to ranged fire from everything in the room.
