Commissar Report I & II - Dukane's Journal

Lots of people here have raised one common, really good point that brushes over the enormous over-arching issue about all posts related to the lore and story of Darktide: none, or little to nothing of this is to be found in a good integrated way; IN-GAME.

Regardless of how good or how bad the writing is, it really doesn’t matter much if you keep posting this on the Fatshark Forums and so on, as most players most likely don’t spend their active hours reading up on lore on the forums. Most players just play the game itself and will miss out on all of this.

It is like you are expanding on the near non-existent storyline and lore of Darktide to the minority of the players (the ones playing the game and reading the forums), when you really should focus on bringing all this writing forth to ALL players by integrating it into the actual game itself.

Very good food for thought, Fatshark.
Regardless, who am I joking here? 9/10 times, all this feedback will go nowhere, because it is Fatshark we are talking about, after all. Rest in peace.

yeah that’s the point. this isn’t a mistake, this is them intentionally using the narrative as a foil to make you look at this stuff from outside the scope of your character. your dudes do not have any idea what’s going on down there, so you have to find it out if you want to know.

The feedback isn’t going nowhere, I am sharing it

Hey @FatsharkStrawHat , any chance we can resurrect the Book of Grudges megapost? During this passed few weeks, people seem to have been pretty happy for the most part, so it got locked!

But its a mighty work of collaboration that is a shame to lose. Can you help?

@Ragnarok101 is still able to update it and is doing so. I get the impression he sees the lock as a sign that the situation has improved.

Yup.

For once nobody is complaining enough to warrant me adding something.

I can still edit the actual ‘book’ with new entries, there just won’t be further thread discussion. Which is fine, because it’s main job was to be a link hub to neglected complaints.

Thank you for proving me otherwise, StrawHat.

I am writing all this because I genuinely care about the post-launch progress of the game - a game with so much potential beyond what is currently featured (1600 hours in game and counting makes me realise things, I feel haha!).

As always, looking forward and hoping for new substantial content updates (missions, new weapon families etc.) for the game down the line - For the Emperor! :pray:t3:

Cant wait to see how the Moebian Civil War unfolds.

According to Kill Team Moroch, the existing hierarchy in traitor regiments breaks down pretty quickly. As there’s no more external factors (Munitorum, social factors…) holding up the existing structure, the regiment is left to establish authority amongst it’s own members. In the end those who come out on top tend to end up as leaders, whilst official rank means very little. Thus such regiments are also usually not structured in a rather codified manner.

in darktide’s case we know that wolfer has mostly maintained the guard’s structure, using captured hive production to maintain their supply lines and contraband to fuel their production costs.

they seem to be having an issue supplying enough war material for everyone, given how many of their forces are down to tench bludgeons and their issues with getting tanks but it’s not anywhere near the point where it threatens the command chain. now if wolfer gets killed…
