The Damage/Stagger Distribution stats on weapons don’t properly represent the weapon’s cleaving capabilities, but the first swing in each attack chain. It’s more pronounced when a weapon has varying types of attacks in its combos, but it’s not guaranteed to be representative of the whole combo even if all attacks are the same
For example,
- Heavy Sword VI has a light attack cleave distribution of 2 - 4. This is correct for the first attack (Relentless), but not the third attack (Vanguard, hits at least 5 targets)
- Heavy Sword VI has a heavy attack cleave distrubiton of 0.5 - 1.5. This is correct for the first attack (Strikedown), but not for the second (also Strikedown, hits at least 4 targets)
- Heavy Sword IX has a heavy attack damage/cleave distribution of 0.5 - 1.5. This is correct for the first attack (Strikedown) but not for the subsequent attacks (Vanguard, hits at least 5 targets)
My suggestion to address this would be to bring the cleave information into the Attack Breakdown panel, indicating how many targets can be damaged/staggered with the attack
