I see this a lot. I’m not a FatShark employee, apologist, or even general advocate. But there’s this misconception that “Fatshark should fix their servers”.
Actually, we connect to Amazon AWS servers, not “Fatshark” servers.
And if you read in to it, they’re actually really very good for the price. For a non-subscription game where they’re running these servers now at cost vs cosmetic purchases, it’s probably a good compromise.
Sure, P2P servers, where someone hosts the game is going to be better. Dedicated machine. Dedicated line. Great that is until that said person gets the hump and hits “leave” and ends the whole game… which judging by current Auric Maelstrom missions, is going to be --not allowed a swear word–, let’s be honest.
There’s likely a reason FS went from VT2 p2p to DT AWS. Not that I don’t expect the future to be P2P anyway…
