All melee weapons that have a “Charged” special, meaning Chain weapons, Power weapons, and I think the Force sword, though I have not used it yet, should either have a limited amount of time they remain charged or a limited number of attacks while charged. Not both.
It does not feel good having to re-press the special action key constantly when using one of these weapons, especially on the Chain weapons which you can actually turn off, meaning if you press the button again too soon, you actually disable it yourself, rather than it timing out. If not completely removing the timer, massively extending it would help things feel somewhat better.
I could be wrong, but I don’t feel like this would effect balance at all, since keeping the limited number of attacks per “charge” would keep the in-combat performance the same, it would just be less frustrating not having to keep pressing the button between combat in order to be ready, or worse, playing Zealot, charging your weapon, then using your ability to charge an enemy, only for the charge to have “worn off” by the time you get there since it only lasts 1-2 seconds.
