Carrying fatigue - (player skill all time low)

You literally just said this in one of your comments I posted, unless you misspoke, right?

And? You still haven’t proposed anything, still. I have, even if it’s vague. I did give a minor explanation to somewhat solve the issue. You’re not giving anything, unless you have any ideas?

Omg, dude… I literally just said if they made a more in-depth system in which they can learn certain mechanics in-game, it would be for the benefit of everybody. Yes, it’s a good way to learn & practice. I’m pretty sure what the poster means is that too many poorly-skilled are getting through into hard content too easily & there’s a frustration there.

Also, don’t bring people into a conversation, it’s bad edict. It’s possible he’s changed positions on it. You know, people do change their minds & that’s okay.

Haha ok!

They were all paid by me to give me likes on that first comment so I can be in a good spotlight and get all that yummy praise and feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction at dropping such a TikTok viral comment.

Be careful with that kind of comment behavior. You might end up deserving something you think you don’t.

Why are you tagging people about a convo most of us have already forgotten. Breathe, my dude. Let’s not continue this storm in a tea cup. Gn all.

I don’t know how else to explain it to you. I guess people see only what they want to see.

Again, I’ve only said that people complain about the difficulty, but they absolutely hate carrying randoms which increases the difficulty even in the current state of the game where we have overpowered builds.

You judged the skill of the majority of the playerbase, like most elitists on the forums do, and I focused on that.

I never argued against having better tutorials and systems that help new players. All the power to Fatshark if they want to implement something like that. Most people here, though, talk about gating systems, similar to PVP games. Which won’t work in Darktide, because they barely work in said PVP games where entire systems were built around them.

I don’t hate them. But if you like someone’s post, you indirectly participate in the discussion.

I just find it weird that he built his brand around helping casual players to find the very best builds, but now he likes the opinion of someone who said that “the majority is carried or relies on crutches”.

What? LOL. You literally typed that out yourself, it’s pretty black & white what you meant. Don’t backpedal now… lol.

Again, balancing the game at least weeds them out since people are complaining about it, I’m beating a dead horse now. It’s one technical semi-solution I’m giving, so that it forces players to engage with actual mechanics instead of the brain-dead, walk-through simulator that we have. You’re literally still not contributing besides complaining about elitists like me apparently, lol. Yes, I am judging it & this is the only thing so far that you’ve been correct about. At least I’m giving something, right. Again, I don’t hate non-skilled players to be crystal clear here. If FS implemented better systems, negating players that aren’t as skilled, such as implementing a guide on mechanics & how to play in-game, etc. That would be a miracle. It would at least help the noobs out. I gave at least 2 band-aid solutions. Still waiting on yours, since you want to just complain, right. Just take your time & come up with something at least. Those two ideas took me seconds it’s not that hard.

I never said you didn’t argue against better tutorials at all. I’m saying that it’s a very smart idea putting that within their game to help the newcomers out. It’s super logical & pretty damn reasonable in my eyes. Now, that’s a decent solution, so that later in gameplay they’ll know better at the very least (hoping anyway). It just makes perfect sense. It blows my mind on how this hasn’t happened yet. They have a small guide on basic things in the Psykhanium, but it doesn’t go far enough. It’s the poorest excuse for a tutorial I’ve ever seen in a game. Out of curiosity, I actually did the tutorial a few months ago & it’s literally just basic combat mechanics like blocking, hitting, etc. Doesn’t say anything about the mini-games, what different weapons do, etc. Literally, you have no idea how many times I do the mini-games with everybody standing around doing nothing. There’s a sht ton more they could add & that’s only the tip of the iceberg. FS is mostly to blame in my eyes for implementing such a poor system.

heh, quite a riot here since my last visit :winking_face_with_tongue:

with quickplay you get random people, as always. what seems to have become worse is the average skill of players matching the difficulty they sign up for. i’ve posted a lot on this: people feel entitled to play difficulties they don’t have the skill for. they play on autopilot, refuse to learn, or even react aggressively to friendly advice. or they can get away with facetanking due to power creep. and that’s something expressed by “carrying fatigue”: when you’re just tired by seeing the same dumb mistakes because people seem disconnected from the action, and here i got a good answer why this can be:

I’d also suggest it should make things interesting. I mean come on when everyone plays ogryn and arby with perfect meta builds and slaughters everything with no problems and wins without a sweat that’s pretty boring.
I’d personally rather lose here and there in a dramatic and exciting way than win every single time in the most formulaic and simple way.
I guess I’m a filthy casual console peasant tho.

Dude, check out Hunger.
Fatshark won’t survive 2026.
So many good looking games are coming out within the next year, Fatshark can’t compete with competent game design

just my 2 cents here: he has played ogryn since the beta because he has always liked the barbarian archetype, and got h40 and ts in the first iteration of havoc, where getting into a party as ogryn was the exception.

yeah it looks like they are washed up at this stage. the warhammer ip will carry them along as a console theme park for a while though, so they likely will not change

Objective fact: Arbites, Ogryn, and aoe damage in general are busted to the point that everyone is jumping up to the highest difficulty while ignoring the basics of combat.

People who can’t or don’t want to carry quit because match quality is down.

People who can carry or solo have been screaming that the game is full of power creep for years and have either quit ages ago or have reached the breaking point with the dlc. Anyone who wants a difficult game gets to watch the dog or rumbler clear things while the driver is essentially drunk at the wheel.

I’ve played Tide game consistently for thousands of hours since VT1 launch and I used to think Psyker aoe was as bad as it could get for Darktide; but Fatshark has proven me wrong multiple times. This is the first time I’ve completely stopped playing any of these games and the next patch will decide how long that lasts.

Also lmao I didn’t even know you could see who likes posts on these forums. People will find any excuse to hate on Tanner.

Tanner is racist, so he gets hate from me whenever possible. Until he publicly apologizes to me, then I might forgive him

Eh, in all fairness he brings it on to himself, the whole sockpuppeting thing to solo-like and dogpile on someone here was a new low, IDK anyone else here who’s done it and got caught, but I have a very good hunch a couple others did too with all those brand new “famous names” accounts a while back.

Extra cringe from me when “worlds first !111!” streamers use cheaty mods too, he’s clearly a very skilled player which makes it all the worse in my book, especially since he has a platform.

I’m sure there’s other crap too I’m out of the loop on.
Yeah he’s made some good points re:gameplay and I’ll give the devil his due, but yeesh.

Hmm… Although I’m very indifferent to the guy, personally, we have talked admittedly, but nothing more. This really has nothing to do with the post at all, but I’ll bite. Can you provide evidence at all through a screenshot, etc? Otherwise, it’s just a shtpost & a completely useless accusation. If it’s just anecdotal evidence, save it. If what you’re saying is actually true & you can back it up, then yes, it’s obviously bad & my opinion will drastically change immediately.

Look I didn’t weigh in on that thread because it was just a garbage fire all round frankly but the advice was offered politely and I do think it is actually very odd to play a video game at a high difficulty level and not care at all about self improvement or how to improve your build.

Say what you want about the rest of it but from my experience @gpkgpk was spot on the money when they said “unsolicited advice” never used to be considered such a cardinal sin. And frankly unless it’s presented rudely I really can’t see a single argument for why it should be so offensive to anyone. I received plenty of it while learning higher difficulties in VT2 and it was usually very helpful!

If you want to play with a beer in one hand and your ∆/©€ in the other that’s your prerogative but if you’re gonna queue for Auric or similar probably reasonable to expect others might be taking things a bit more serious than that.

Yes calling the community “damaged” is pretty funny melodramatic stuff but there has been a noticeable vibe shift over time, and I don’t know why you refuse to engage with that underlying observation in favour of attempting to repeatedly “dunk on” Cheddar.

I had a lot of respect for your posts in the past but it’s hard not to feel some of this is just being intentionally disingenuous now.

I brought up (Edit: I spoke on it, Cheddar brought it up) the other thread here because Cheddar was ignoring all of the context there in some flaccid effort to catch Bulanskovich in some kind of “gotcha” upthread.

The community hasn’t changed. Gaming hasn’t changed. People haven’t changed. Nobody wants to be backseated, never have. I’ve been playing games online for ~30 years. You couldn’t make (wrong) assumptions about other people’s play, offer unsolicited advice, and ever expect anything but a snarky comeback.

I need all of yall to send me your addresses so I can mail you all some old-timer pocket dictionaries and you can finally learn what this word means.

I had to unignore just to see the reply to @alsozara, and it was worth it.
This is flat out wrong, everything you say didn’t change did in fact change, slowly but noticeably and some dramatically.

Quite frankly if it were anyone else, I’d say they were lying to try to “dunk” on Alsa, but since it’s you, I’m gonna chalk it up to a 50/50 chance of Badwin being Badwin, and genuinely believe what you typed, having observed ~nothing in 30 years (~30 for me too); par for the course.

I love that I can still be surprised, kudos for that I suppose and kudos for using the tilde ~ to signify approximation!

LMAO, DM it to us.
