Carrying fatigue - (player skill all time low)

I gave you a solution but if you instead prefer to wait for however long it takes Fatshark to make the game as you desire or do what you can right now is up to you.

If you prefer to continue partaking in this humble-bragging contest we have here then go ahead.

What? Lmao… Literally most people at this game are not great in general & that’s just how it is if you’ve ever actually played it.

It’s not that big of a deal, I win most of my games in auric/maelstorm with those “shitty players” that everyone hates here, and I play mostly solo. And even if I lose, who cares, at 3k hours I’ve won so many matches, Havoc or auric that I don’t take it personally.

It’s very tiring, carrying people all the time & I’m not trying to sound egotistic either.

Except that you do.

Any modern game that gets updates lives or dies by its casual audience.

Most people that are at these higher levels are either carried or they crutch on broken abilities or weapons, right.

So, uh, you did some thorough research to come to that conclusion? In every game there’s meta, and people tend to play popular, easy to figure out builds. It’s not something unique to Darktide.

You thinking that it’s only those two options – carried or crutching – and not anything else, tells me everything I need to know.

I can only accept this point of view from someone who never uses broken abilities or weapons, and I have my doubts that you don’t…

It will at least gate out players that are maybe less skilled.

It won’t work and it will just bring even more toxicity. Even ELO systems in ranked pvp games can’t gate people of different skill levels properly, and how do you expect Darktide to do that? People play whatever difficulty they want, and they will find ways to circumvent any of the gating systems. When you play quickplay, this is something you just accept, that you get drastically different skill levels in the same bracket.

Since the game also has classes, it would also require to gate each class separately, since I have my doubts that even the best players from this forum can equally play all 5 classes at the highest level.

What you’re suggesting is nonsensical.

I’m not suggesting anything. I’m merely stating the popular opinion of the forums. What’s nonsensical about it? That forum people hate the majority of the playerbase for not being good enough? When, in fact, most people probably don’t even think about it, and just enjoy their time playing the game and trying to learn?

Bragging contest? You’re the one engaging in conversation in which you’re no help to the solutions, instead you complain instead, lmao. Maybe try to contribute to the problems people are raising & less obsessed about little old me? As I’ve stated beforehand, I’m not saying this as some elitist/egotist. It’s a genuine issue that people have with the game. I gave at least something, you gave nothing & that’s that lol.

i miss the days when auric maelstrom was a 50/50 shot even with decent folk
(though i got to admit, and it might be a fluke given the low number of matches, director has been good to me the last couple days and made me earn my rashuns)
instead of warmup half way between the fridge and the sh!tter.

good losses feel much more rewarding than <17 minutes A.M runs (without going for a speedrun)

and i’d be equally fine if havoc 40 without premade and coms was literally impossible, quite a few raids back in the day i didnt bother about either, but mad respect for someone coming from 10 hours of fast barked orders

but please fatshark, balance… balance like someone was threatning hiding an open can of surströmming in your office

i mean i got to cut the dude some slack.
about every week or so at work comes the mandatory question, emprah what have i done to deserve this (insert :poop: of the moment)

and almost instantly i answer myself “oh, right…that…
continue”

we’re sharing a single braincell, i see.

It is a big deal, because obviously a good number of people are raising that concern, right. Are you just going to ignore it? Okay then lol. I’m not being egotistic, as I explained most people have this issue & I’ve at least come up with a semi-solution. Which you obviously think is just carrying everybody… lmao. Fk no. What research? That people are going to exploit broken things in the game, ohh wow, I must need a PHD level to understand this, so people can crutch & get by, huh? Of course, it will work balancing the game. I never said it was fool-proof, but the reason it weeds people out is because you kind of have to have a brain & at least be skilled to get by, instead of the walk-through simulator we have now.

Yeah, this really doesn’t sound like you’re implying that at all. lmao… Get real dude. Also, I don’t hate poorly-skilled players… I hate FS not implementing a more balanced game because of it. They need a more in-depth guide system within the game, so that newer players can do better. Everything is super vague at best. Both are steps in the right direction. Both of you guys have given literally nothing. You’re a bladder full of hot air.

LMFAO, didn’t you (and an army of lurkers) just ratio the f u c k out of me about how you should never offer advice to anyone ever?

Not at all myself, others sure, I just thought you could have worded it better and it the reply you got wasn’t that bad to warrant a discussion on it, but personally I did not have an issue with you offering advice.

Pretty sure you got ragged on for offering unsolicited advice based on an incorrect assumption, got the most mild response imaginable, and then came to the forums to show your “proof” that the community is “damaged.”

Now all the sudden you give a shite about pretending to read and respond to comments, huh? Interesting

Huh?

Which you obviously think is just carrying everybody… lmao.

I never said that. My whole point is about the discrepancy. If the game is indeed such a sleepwalk, why complain about the average player’s skill level? Surely one great player can carry them, even if most people – according to the forum people at least – don’t belong in Auric Damnation?

Both of you guys have given literally nothing. You’re a bladder full of hot air.

I mean, you act like you’ve done a great work here explaining yourself, but I’m not seeing anything constructive other than some very vague suggestions.

The best way to learn the difficult content is to play difficult content until you get better, is it not?

Btw, @Tanner_Lindberg, since you liked Brad’s post, can you explain this to me? Wasn’t it you who pushed casual players who sought your genuine advice into using most meta builds, more often than not claiming that some of the weaker abilities and weapons are outright useless, and always creating your guides under the assumption that there’s only one “correct” way to build certain weapons? A bit hypocritical to like posts about casual players who rely on crutches, don’t you think?

This is called an appeal to authority logical fallacy; what normal people are you referring to? By what standard do you dictate what is normal?

Argue in good faith if you want to argue.

And…? So what? People make mistakes & misjudge, that’s life. Looks like you’re the one trying to start something here, lol. Also, this is a forum where people talk & shoot the sht, so what? Why take this seriously anyway? Yeah, people have arguments, but it’s not to be taken personally. People are saying things that I think are stupid in these comments, but I don’t hate them. We agree to disagree, right.

Cheese dude is acting like this other dude is full of it because of his response to post where cheese dude got dunked on for being fragile and dooming over nothing. Just pointing out the truth.

I am fully aware this is a forum and yadda yadda. I ain’t questioning anybody’s participation anywhere.

Dude it’s not that deep.

Arbites brought a lot of new players.
They feel ready for auric with their op build/class.
They will do fine for the most part, but when they have to actually deal with enemies because killing them asap didn’t work, they will die in some comical way.
More experienced players call them out.

That’s it.

Yes, low skilled players have been around forever, but it’s more of an issue when you are almost guaranteed to a get glue sniffer in your team.
Yes, complainers could find a premade, but the fact that this is even an argument shows that the quality of pubs is questionable. It’s literally a roundabout solution to “let anyone play auric man”.

I see you also lack reading comprehension

Y’know how you wouldn’t have gotten dunked on? By not bringing your nothingburger to the salt mines as proof of some damaged community. Forest trees blah blah blah
