Does it still just ping the axe if you aim for Bodvarr’s body?
From memory, yes, pinging works if the axe is nowhere near. This is a mild annoyance given you can’t reping for a while and thus miss that hookrat coming through the pack / get power bonus for WHC / general awareness.
Is there any point having the axe pingable at all? If other heroes could pick it up then I could see why, but other than that maybe remove it from pingable items?
As a comparison, barrels need to be aimed very carefully to be pinged but an axe, despite smaller, pings from a wide area around.
I often use the Throwing Axes on Slayer, I can confirm that tagging (T) prioritizes Slayers Axes.
