Seriously this is a screen shot from OBS that shows how Darktide gets captured if you choose the specific game darktide.exe window. The only way I can get a clear image is to capture the whole screen. Which then leaves the problem of showing my whole desktop to the world can see my desktop and potentially sharing personal and private information to the rest of the world.
Why have you not solved this after all this time? Do you hate the people that buy products that much that everything you do is to just frustrate and annoy them?
I record about 80% of my matches on the off chance I want to rewatch to see performance of various blessings/talents. Yes, the capture in OBS is distorted when focused on OBS, but all my recordings are exactly as expected.
I don’t know where the issue lies, but it’s really not a problem for me. If your videos are coming out garbled, I’d recommend playing around with capture settings.
I use Game Capture for my source. And I almost always use Borderless Fullscreen, but I’m fairly certain both Windowed and Fullscreen work. I use “Capture specific window” as the mode, no SLI, no transparency, no limit, I do capture cursor and use anti-cheat compatibility hook (tho I don’t think it matters), and no capture third-party overlays. Normal hook rate, sRGB color space.
OBS is 29.0.0 (prolly outdated), and I’m happy to provide any other bits of info if it helps.
I’ll check my settings too. I’ve used obs for the videos I’ve posted here before with a keyboard overlay.
The effect you have there I’ve seen before… I think by capturing the obs screen itself, but I resolved it. I’ll come back with what I use when at PC.
I’ve found shadowplay fine too, apart from when I wanted to overlay nohboard (to show the desync issues between keypress and game action).
@SkipRat I have two sources in OBS; the first is a window capture for nohboard, then the second a game capture for any fullscreen app. Obvs nohboard goes above the fullscreen in terms of layer.
Screenies below. I don’t think I did anything else with the settings, other than set Darktide to run fullscreen. Also - link to the post where the videos are (videos were post-edited to do slow downs): Bloopers reel
Seems to me its a canvas size issue not the capcure mode itself… file → video → and set the base canvas and the output resolution size whatever your monitor resolution is… (nowdays usually 1920x1080)… Then check under Output (set to advanced) → recording what is your rescale output. Turn it off or set that too to your monitor resolution…
Tbf blaming FS first place on a matter which is more likely your fault its a bit ret arded…
