Can you for the love god sort out streaming/recording

Seriously this is a screen shot from OBS that shows how Darktide gets captured if you choose the specific game darktide.exe window. The only way I can get a clear image is to capture the whole screen. Which then leaves the problem of showing my whole desktop to the world can see my desktop and potentially sharing personal and private information to the rest of the world.

Why have you not solved this after all this time? Do you hate the people that buy products that much that everything you do is to just frustrate and annoy them?

Seriously just stop it, the world is god damn awful enough without you punishing us for wanting to play your games.

How is this Darktide’s problem exactly?
Have you tried exclusive fullscreen capture or are you just using borderless window?

P.S. You know you can use different user profiles for streaming, or virtual desktops right?

P.P.S. Don’t keep your pr0n or other sensitive info on the desktop(s).

I record about 80% of my matches on the off chance I want to rewatch to see performance of various blessings/talents. Yes, the capture in OBS is distorted when focused on OBS, but all my recordings are exactly as expected.

I don’t know where the issue lies, but it’s really not a problem for me. If your videos are coming out garbled, I’d recommend playing around with capture settings.

I have literally tried everything.

Including running obs as admin, running Darktide as admin.

Full screen, windowed, borderless.

The only way I can get a clear capture is to capture the whole screen, and it’s been happneing on both nVidia and AMD products.

I’ll check my setting and share them when I’m back on my computer. I also have an Nvidia GPU. I’m on Windows 10. You?

No worries. Hope you can get it sorted.

I use Game Capture for my source. And I almost always use Borderless Fullscreen, but I’m fairly certain both Windowed and Fullscreen work. I use “Capture specific window” as the mode, no SLI, no transparency, no limit, I do capture cursor and use anti-cheat compatibility hook (tho I don’t think it matters), and no capture third-party overlays. Normal hook rate, sRGB color space.

OBS is 29.0.0 (prolly outdated), and I’m happy to provide any other bits of info if it helps.

Right-Click your desktop–>View–>Show Desktop Icons. That will hide your embarassing pr0n

I’ll check my settings too. I’ve used obs for the videos I’ve posted here before with a keyboard overlay.

The effect you have there I’ve seen before… I think by capturing the obs screen itself, but I resolved it. I’ll come back with what I use when at PC.

i gave up on obs having a similar issue where it wouldn´t record more than 256x256 even if resolution was force fed to it.

geforce experience, while recording the voice of my gaming buddy every now and then, proves a suitable enough tool to record my stuff in 2k.

no performance loss either so i didn´t bother with obs ever again.

setting :
win 11
rtx 4080

edit: while its of little use to you with a amd card, i replied for the info of having the same obs issue so it might be more reasons to it.

Strange… this is how DT showing for me under specific game darktide.exe window capcure mode:

So might be just skill issue at your end ?

I’ve found shadowplay fine too, apart from when I wanted to overlay nohboard (to show the desync issues between keypress and game action).

@SkipRat I have two sources in OBS; the first is a window capture for nohboard, then the second a game capture for any fullscreen app. Obvs nohboard goes above the fullscreen in terms of layer.

Screenies below. I don’t think I did anything else with the settings, other than set Darktide to run fullscreen. Also - link to the post where the videos are (videos were post-edited to do slow downs): Bloopers reel

for me most definately, not gonna call it otherwise.

though i called it quits once i found another software to do the job without the hickup and the end results were fine enough to upload.

friend of mine using obs without any fuss on a 4090, tried different stuff via discord conversation, to no avail.

This is what I get

Seems to me its a canvas size issue not the capcure mode itself… file → video → and set the base canvas and the output resolution size whatever your monitor resolution is… (nowdays usually 1920x1080)… Then check under Output (set to advanced) → recording what is your rescale output. Turn it off or set that too to your monitor resolution…

Tbf blaming FS first place on a matter which is more likely your fault its a bit ret arded…

Not canvas size issue.

Canvas is set to 1920x1080 as is the stream and all the overlays.

its just not priority unfortunately
