This limits the playstyles for the sake of a contract and it’s anti-fun.
This is especially noticible now that there are non-melee/range options to kill things quickly.
Assail is one example, but even if Assail didn’t exist, there are bleed, burn, soulblaze, grenades etc that doesn’t get counted towards these. As well as these stupid contracts makes it so that players are encouraged to compete for kills and general anti-teamwork mindset as well.
Just make it “Kill X, Z amount of times” period. Don’t make it Kill using melee/range.
Ok for one, that’s completely opposite of what it should be haha. (WTF fatshark fix this)
And two (pointing to Fatshark from here onwards), even if blitz and DOT is counted, it encourages ANTI-teamwork, and I’ve seen so many just splitting up just so that they can kill without others trying to kill it using a different method to contract.
Three, it limits playstyles when you should be encouraging diversity in playstyles (I mean, if not, why do we have different classes and skill trees?)
People have been complaining about this since the system was added.
They made a whole song and dance about locking certain penances to private lobbies only because they promote “unnatural gameplay instead of good teamwork” and then they go and retain this stupid penance system that turns a coop game into a competition.
