Sure, but if they make a Darktide 2, which mechanically isn’t need (As in if they do another 40k tide game after Darktide there isn’t any reason to tie it to Darktide instead of simply making Dakkatide or Eldartide…), more so, your idea isn’t even related to Darktide, it’s taking a new cast and putting it against a new faction. Calling it Darktide 2 would just be confusing and unnecessary.
As for this
That wouldn’t make any sense. Now at least it’s not a full SM idea that we see SM fans float, and a new 40k tide with for example (For similar power aspects) a Sister of Battle (With Faith abilities); a Tech Priest; a Primaris Psyker; and a Space Marine would be something that would have enough potential for voice lines/characterisations, weapons, cosmetics…
But even in the case that they do a new tide in 40k, I’ll prefer Dakkatide where we play 3 orks and a Grot (in a Killa kan).
But still, if SM fans could stop trying to shoehorn them in the games every so often
I’d not seen the original in all its glory before, although I do know it very well from its inclusion under the Guardsman/Stone’s page in the Inquisitor Rulebook, along with the other pieces of concept art for the other archetypes/characters.
I - and the people I play DT with for that matter - would absolutely love an Ork Kommando version of Darktide. It would be absolutely hilarious and probably make for a very good co-op shooter game in general, in that it could really go off the deep end of the wild and whacky because Orkz. It would be infinitely better than having Space Marines shoved into the face again.
A Force Spear or Halberd (or both!) would be pretty swish.
Plus it’d fulfill the gap in psyker’s arsenal for innate anti-armor tools (vet has PS, zealot has TH, Ogryn has shovel) since most of their gear is restricted to blessing requirements to penetrate carapace.
I think for the 40k setting there are 2 idea that I would really want to see:
Dakkatide: Playable orks vs Tyranids
Eldar tide: With set character, 2 Eldar (Warlock as a Caster and Autarch as balanced ranged/melee) 2 Dark Eldar (Archites/Succubi as melee focused, and Haemonculi as melee tanky) and 1 Harlequin (Solitaire, balanced) against Imperium
