Especially when I’m on my zealot, if I’m in the mix and suddenly BLUE/WHITE FIRE WITH EXTREME CONTRAST TO EVERYTHING ELSE I quite literally can’t see what I’m attacking / being attacked by. Can this be toned down so that everyone else can see what the hell is happening?

I demand that I be blinded by all psyker powers. It should be like a flashbang going off. Anything less is cheating
But yeah, it’d be nice to be able to see if the enemy is swinging at me at least. I love the way it looks but how do I parry a ball of fire?

Just came out of a game with two of them, while killing the corruption demon tentacles I was pretty much blind. Had to get away from my team out of coherency to be able to see again.
Friendly fire should be enabled and psyker should cause not damage but corruption. That’s the only lore accurate way.

On perils instead of blowing yourself up every time it should be a table of effects.
1/10 chance you blow up yourself
1/10 chance you take 100 corruption
1/10 chance you and your party takes 50 corruption
1/10 chance you blow up and do friendly fire damage and knockback
1/100 chance you spawn a gravitational field that sucks everyone including enemies into its radius for 0.5s
1/100 chance that it starts raining acidic blood that damages enemies and friendlies and applies corruption
1/1000 chance you turn into a daemonhost and begin mauling the party
i think the effect is actually broken. the way it screws the contrast ratio on everything it illuminates is just not normal. its like that in raytracing too tho so idk the source.
but youre basically going blind as soon as this covers your entire fov. its really bad. probably everybody just thinks its supposed to look that way.
1/1000 chance turn either yourself or someone else on your team into a chaos spawn.
1/1000 chance that a bunch of tiny beasts of nurgle start crawling out of the walls and form into a beast of nurgle

This very unforgettable thing did in fact happen to my Dark Heresy party one time. Some mutant psyker popped off a bad roll of perils and daemonhosted. We practically wiped. I have a copy on hand and it worked like this:
Psychic Pheonomina happens any time the player rolls a 75 or higher on 2D10. (75% chance). This is all minor stuff like blood weeping from the walls or deafening screams that carry for a kilometer or more etc. They roll on a table and if they get 75+ on 2D10 then they instead roll on the Perils table. 91/99 is a daemonhost. 100 sucks the psyker into the warp itself and kills it outright.
Other fun ones include:
Warp Whispers: The ghostly voices of daemons fil lthe air within (max 40m) of the psyker. Everyone in the area [recieves corruption]
Chronological Incontinence: Time warps around the Psyker. The character winks out of existence and reappears in roughly 1 minute.
Dark Summoning: summons a lesser daemon that tries to kill the psyker specifically
Cataclysmic Blast: basically what happens now
Would be a favorite of mine sounds super interesting. If it was to be put in a game like this would probably have to have a lowered time so they don’t get left behind for awhile
It’d be extra fun to just force them into a “sub dimension” where they can run around but not interact with anything for 30s. It could even be something that would occasionally save the psyker from a clutch situation. If it doesnt spawn a daemonhost.
We should have a sanity bar that we need to maintain or we start hearing and seeing things that aren’t there. Psyker’s sanity bar reduces whenever they use their powers. Everyone else’s, except ogryn, reduces by seeing the psyker use their powers. Zealots maintain it by praying to the Emperor. Veterans maintain it by drinking from their special hip flask. Ogryn’s bar doesn’t move.

Yes it can actually, just turn off Bloom in the video settings menu.
You can nuke the settings for fire etc much harder in the config file, which I have done a long time ago. The psyker fire is still too much.
Just repeat after me: “everything is a psyker’s fault” or “purge the wyrd/witch”. You’re a Zealot act like one
