Calling Tide vets - Which game is hardest?

What game do you think is hardest, especially at the top vanilla difficulty?

Vt1 you have the least tools, so it end up less arcady and more deliberate.

DT I would say has a random bull@#£% difficulty.

Vt2 is in-between.

But each have their difficulties in different ways

Kinda like how DS1/2/3, Bloodborn, ER… each have some different communities that consider them as being harder than the others

Never played VT1.

I tried VT2 again a few months back to see if I could apply the experience from DT to it, but I just couldn’t go back to the game speed difference. Felt weird.

DT and V2 are very different imo and in some ways so is V1, although I would say getting good at V2 makes V1 easy. V1 is slower and more deliberate as @Heretical_Cactus said.

I also think that being good at V2 makes you better at DT.

Esentially I think V2 is a far far harder and more unforgiving game.

It does! No sprint is what gets me most of the time and I actually find myself trying to sprint :joy:
Still, I will go back and play V2 till the day I die, largely because of the character interactions. Some of the best voice acting in any game ever.

Toss up between v1 and v2 in my mind. In v1 you haver the least amount of options so that alone necessitates that your fundamentals are on point. There are defo some cheesy ways for example to regain HP and ammo nearly limitlessly but other than that mistakes are heavily punished and you will die 1 shot to stuff like overheads.

V2 on the other hand throws way more at you, but you have way more tools like class abilities, temp hp and talent interactions to deal with the added enemy power. There is also something about v2s movement that is just more refined compared to v1. I always notice it whenever i try to play the first game. I guess its similar to people who have started with darktide and try to play v2.

Its different kind of difficulty with the 2 games and i could see arguments for either.

So far Im surprised by the results. Maybe because I played on the Playstation where the hordes are smaller and enemies have more health… but I found Vermintide 1 far easier upon returning from a couple thousand hours on Vermintide 2.

VT1 just punishes you like crazy, I think the gas cloud is 40 damage a tick on Cataclysm. There are some benefits to that game system vs VT2 though, like your push angle is closer to a full circle. So with strong fundamentals from previous games moving backwards that one might be the most simple for a tide vet with thousands of hours. There’s not enough enemy spamming for anything but ‘sniping gas rat, dodging pack/assassin and avoiding stormvermin’ to really matter. Gunrat is I think less of an issue than in VT2. Darktide provides players with the most tools to avoid damage. Vermintide 2 has the ability to play modded difficulties ‘online’ which gives it the edge in terms of ‘scenarios that can be made challenging and also still 4 player’. Modded realm is where its at.
