Here’s my rough take on Sniper Skitarii, intended to be run with the Galvanic Rifle. By stacking toughness talents and having extra servo skulls I can support the team while nailing consistent elite potshots.
Skitarii on the left, Psyker on the right. Differences highlighted for your convenience.
For the measly price of +0.25s of Stam regen delay, you too can have significantly better base stats across the board compared to other base classes !
I know there are other levers to adjust class power, but damn that’s a bad start. Just like Arby. I mean, just the 3 Stamina vs Psyker’s measly 1 Stamina makes me go “wow” !
After a bit of exploring, it seems there’s a lot of nice options. Going to be difficult to decide which to choose! Feels like there’s loads more than the other classes trees.
Tremendous Tree, no operative modifiers, +25 Toughness built into Auras, most choice yet. Most missed choices forcing into parts of the tree or skipping otherwise core choices.
The lack of Operative modifiers may make a ‘math situation’ as I believe the flat damage boosts & damaged reductions stacked better with operative modifiers boosting base from my understanding.
The most notable thing about the tree design that stands out as an issue is the number of keystones/abilities that have only one talent path into them. In practice, it might not make much difference but just theorycrafting around with the build editor, I’m kind of annoyed having to take some of these talents.
EDIT: My pain point is that the lead-in talents do not seem worth it whereas with other classes it’s a talent with almost 100% pick rate. Psyker keystones exception.
Voltaic Restoration, Data Sensor Protocol, Ammo Restoration Pod don’t seem like talents I’d take on purpose. Hybrid Combat Covenant is okay but still not something I want 100% of the time.
