Bonesaw needs a slight buff/cleave

For some reason the bonesaw has less cleave than the crowbar and the shivs. Adding that we have a chem toxin on crit talent, the bonesaw has no real place/identity at the moment.

Crowbar has stagger

The shivs have speed, mobility, and a ranged chem toxin special

The bonesaw, while fun, struggles against hordes and armor compared to the previous two(and even other “all class weapons”)

Please at least buff the cleave, though the brittleness special could use a buff too. I love the weapon, but only feels somewhat decent when I have +strength from a stim.

hmm id take more cleave but i dont think it really needs it,

push attack into heavy is safe and effective horde clear, that can either loop or drop into L>H repeating and H1 is good if not great at dealing with armour, sure its a weaker point weapons should have them

I have just used with a serious build the weapon…

I am not sure this weapon needs it. We have lot of ways to get it pass through all enemies like butter.

With the build I did, you clearly poison entire horde that die from toxin in mass. I use stamina build + chemical dependency + rampage. And on weapon shock & awe and shred.
This works really well. And I use cartel stimm with few bonuses (chem dependency)

slap shock & awe on it, and take battering strikes, it’s not bad.
I disagree with it not having it’s own identity; it’s one of the most unique weapons atm

I do agree the brittleness special could be buffed. I rarely use it outside of crushers, sometimes maulers, and almost never if I have a needle pistol as my sidearm

I agree about this.
I don’t use it, even for a crusher. So, something must be wrong if I don’t feel the need to use it.

With rampage any weapon becomes good imo. I’m talking about the base weapon.

Sure 1 heavy attack cleaves and you can combo into it, but the fact that all the other weapons available don’t need rampage/stimms buffs is what I’m talking about.

It definitely feels great with that build but the other weapons, including the non unique hive scum weapons available, feel better to use even without all that.

Its my favorite hs melee weapon but it definitely could use a slight cleave and brittleness buff

You cannot speak about a class restricted weapon without looking at the talent tree… or you will create a monster (a sort of DS…)

It’s my favorite hs melee weapon and I use it in every match. I do have shock and awe on it as well.

I’m not saying this weapon needs to have an insane buff mind you. I just think a lil more cleave and a buff to the brittleness would make it something that I dont just use because I like it, but because it performs just as well as any other melee option available.

Right now if I want to chem toxin melee it’s better just to grab coated weaponry and run something else.

Again I’m not saying it needs an insane buff. Just slight cleave and the brittleness option need a lil love.

Rn every other weapon does what it can do by running coated weaponry with less drawbacks. I love this weapon, use it with shock and awe, and besides the brittleness option being useless… think it’s at a great spot damage and moveset wise.

That being said the extra strength(cleave mainly) from the stimm feels like what it should be at it’s base. The crowbar feels great at it’s base, the shivs feel great at it’s base, the chain sword/devils claw/heavy sword etc.

The only reason I use it rn is because I like it not because I think it’s a good choice.

It needs an attack pattern overhaul. Light attacks should be the cleavse swings (ie. like Heavy attack 2, obviously faster) and heavy attacks need to be the “overheads”.
It feels like the one who designed the current attack pattern was high on some chems as well, it’s bad for both mobbing and single target.

Both Crowbar and Bonesaw feel really meh without Rampage for me so far.

I only use Shiv or Combat Axe in any other build, they feel great without having to invest too much into melee skill tree.

Shock & Awe + Battering definitely solves the cleave problem for bonesaw.
In my opinion the weapon is pretty strong for what it is esp when u go down the rampage chem addict route for repeated stims or adrenaline. Not sure if I would ask for a cleave buff.

Yah there are so many cleave talents and blessings should be fine… its attack speed is whats lacking thus you need rampage its actually the one class without a flat 10% attack speed talent but [strikethrough]has a gimicky low stamina 10% attack speed.[/strikethrough]

I’d like a mark that has wide swing light attacks and heavy overhead attacks, personally.

Use stamina curios +3 x 3, put a +2 stamina perk on your melee weapon and pick Swift Endurance.
Here, you will understand what this class is when we talk about melee.

OH oh i misread it per current stamina not loss interesting, I’m okay for using rampage for now want my revive speed until free period and new hive scum is over than can min max

oh now that would be somethin i’d ask for

Can we also buff T Hammer shock and awe to the same duration as this weapon? I might at least consider it then.

Okay so after tesing the bonesaw a bit more here are my results:
Push attack + heavy for mobbing (to skip the first heavy attack)
Heavy + light + heavy for single target
These work pretty well, but could still use a diff pattern for light spam.

The move set is just subpar IMHO.

I could make do with everything else, but the move set needs an overhaul. It needs some wider slices to deal with hordes, and an easier time stringing them together wouldn’t hurt either.
