I don’t really like the knife playstyle so i made a support/tank build for my Scum so I’ve picked the Crowbar as my go to but I think the cleave/dmg ratio is kind off weak? idk if i build a little bit wrong because I did not take the cleave talent points but yeah it seems that even the chainsword got better cleave than the crowbar. So any crowbar chads got some advice?
I wouldn’t build Scum as a “tank” at all, but I love crowbar for my melee build. It’s a monster when you’re on stim or using rampage, can toss ragers around easily. Good all-rounder weapon, perhaps the second best in the game without being completely broken, behind good ol’ Rashad.
In general, melee-focused builds for this class seem to be very heavy on making use of Rampage and stims for as long as possible with as short a cooldown as you can manage. Real feast or famine gameplay, and crowbar does amazingly with it.
No matter how I build it, the crowbar seems like a pretty average weapon? Or above average, compared to the hive scum’s bad selection of range/melee weapons. (Needle gun is kinda op though.)
Many other weapons have higher single/multi target dps compared to the crowbar, as tested in the Psykhanium. It’s only uniqueness is the ability to chain stun 1 enemy while pulling it away from the crowd. Such as picking out 1 crusher from the usual 20+ crushers in your normal havoc games, or stun locking any crusher that has his sights on you within a messy situation. Therefore slightly increasing your survivability in melee as a fragile hive scum. (Hive scum dies to crushers in 1 single hit, in havoc. Just like the psyker.)
But if you are confident with dodging masses of crushers…then it’s pretty much a redundant unique ability.
My god… this is the most visceral weapon of this class.
I simply loves it (however with stamina curios x 3 and +2 stamina on the crowbar)
The move set is incredible… I love bashing the horde with it…
needs buffs.

Did you test stamina builds?
Im doing melee build with hive scum, not long ago reached lvl 30 so my highest difficulty experience is auric now, the crowbar is a really good weapon, but vs carapace is not that great, i know you can use switch mode vs them but thats really slow sw the mode and the heavy attack is too slow, so i changed to combat axe (rashad) so far i think thats the best weapom for scum.
meh its blunt club doesn’t seem to high cleave damage but its a strong stagger.
The safer choice for squishy Hive Scum….its secondary swapping to an entire new swing pattern is a pretty subtle but awesome addition hope it gets implemented more.
The secondary mode is also a nice nod to Billhook in VT2
yes, needs cleave and a damage buff.
I find it kinda meh tbh, It’s not bad with rampage activated but nothing is bad when rampage is activated.
But you have:
- unstoppable force (ignore enemy mass and +10% damages)
- Battering strikes (+10% cleave per hit, 5 stacks)
- Battering momentum (+50% cleave when hitting 3 enemies)
- Pulverising strikes (+50% cleave when rampage is active)
It is not enough??? ![]()
could you please link one? wanna give it a try
no, not really.
Mediocre. Damage beyond the first target is really low. Its only saving grace is its good base attack speed, and when all the buffs are online it’s pretty strong ; but really, as @Durandal94 pointed out, with Rampage active, a pool noodle would appear strong.
With Rampage the lights are so fast, I use KeepSwinging to save my fingers the trouble.
Frankly, I’d rather it were much slower but stronger, especially in terms of cleave. The shivs are already spammy enough.
I test guy… I have no real build to propose. They can vary all the time.
I actually play stamina curiox +3 stamina x3 and with the crowbar that has +5% critical chances and + stamina.
I have put bash and unstoppable force.
I have 2 builds currently with this weapon. One that relies on chemical dependency, and basically you chain critics and poison everything around you. You spend half your time in rampage and chain stimm CDR stimm.
The second is relying on rampage, adrenaline and all cleave talents (except pulverising strike, but because I was running out of points).
And here also i use same technic. But the lack of chemical dependency make it better to get more rampage activations. You end like a berserker running everywhere and killing everything like a junky without his dose…
needs some vanguard/relentless on a second mark. that’s all.
No
It’s ok. I don’t mind it, I just find shivs or knife much better for the way I play it… which you said you don’t like. I just like being as fast as possible to deal with ranged enemies. I don’t know based on your build how crowbar feels though. When I was levelling up and picking talents based on penances more than synergy crowbar didn’t feel very great at all. When I focused on coherent melee builds crowbar did feel pretty good… but then I was like… why stagger everything when I can just straight out murder them with shivs?
This crowbar build was decent^
Needs buffs
so do shivs, heavy damage is too low.
