Prior to patch 14, blades of faith was just short of oneshotting Dreg Ragers on headshot, which could be worked around with buffs like momentum.
When I saw the patch “Increased power from 500 to 585 to help reaching some weak spot breakpoints”, I thought that would make dealing with Dreg Ragers more consistent.
However, since all the melee elites have also had their health increased significantly, hitting the Dreg Rager breakpoint is now even further away, not even reachable with max momentum stacks.
Was this not one of the breakpoints the patch was meant to fix? Blades of faith could really use a maniac bonus to offset the significant jump in dreg rager HP.
I think (hope) they just forgot and will fix it. Brain burst got a +50% maniac dmg buff for breakpoints, so I hope the knives not getting it was just a mistake.
I really don’t think they intend for you to one shot Ragers with knives. Most likely it was for special breakpoints the the knives previously required weapon perks to reach. I think flamers and maybe a few others required a perk on your equipped weapon to one head shot.
Its better this way, headshot the rager and then breathe on him for the knife back. This is actually extremely meta use of the knives btw, chunk an elite slash em get it back. They are amazing atm in my opinion, that stupid poxwalker that mr presidents your knife is no obstacle. They don’t go sideways when wielding your gun unless its a flamethrower. They goooood.
